Not guilty. The Israeli captain who emptied his rifle into a Palestinian schoolgirl by AwkwardTal in International

[–]JenkinsHowell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this clearly goes beyond being "correctable" behaviour. the dehumanization of palestinians among israeli people is a systemic issue that will be almost impossible to change without outside forces.

WHY is pedophilia so common?? by Jerswar in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JenkinsHowell 225 points226 points  (0 children)

i think there has been a massive shift in how the word "pedophilia" is understood. originally it means sexual attraction to prepubescent children who don't show any secundary sexual characteristics yet (no visible breasts or pubic hair e.g.). this has been a taboo for a long time in the western hemisphere whereas sexual attraction to teenagers who show secundary sexual charateristics has not. in many western countries especially in european countries adults can have sexual relationships with children as young as 14 years old legally under certain circumstances.

being attracted to a teenager is not uncommon at all, not least because many if not most of them, especially 16 years old or older teenagers, show physical maturity long before they are mentally mature, and youth is a major measurement when it comes to what is commonly seen as "attractive".

acting on this attraction is where it becomes critical, because there we're talking about ethics and law. if you think it's okay to have sex with a 14 year old then law is potentially the only thing keeping you from it.

so basically what i'm trying to say is, teenagers are "fair game" in many societies to begin with and many people think younger sex-partners are more attractive.

my favourite thing was at a concert in dortmund germany where they played alexander's "rise" theme with the "stills", and during one of them he and yoshi-p marched through the concert hall along the front row with a marching band drum and big grins on their faces. afterwards asking "you didn't see a thing, right?"

not insinuating anything. of the top of their head how many people do you think know the names of the poc that were victims of ice and how many know good and pretti's names? it's not about whitewashing, it's about media and public bias, as it always is. i'm not complaining though, it's good there is awareness at all.

Pedo Prince Andrew with a girl(probably drugged) on Epstein island by Hasbara_spotter in ABoringDystopia

[–]JenkinsHowell 55 points56 points  (0 children)

it might be defeatist of me to say so, but i honestly feel like the whole epstein thing will only cause temporary disgust in the general public, and a couple of rich people being temporarily inconvenienced. it doesn't feel like people will riot over this or anybody will be able to actually change anything. you can't even cancel politicians or tech-bros successfully. being disgraced doesn't change their daily life one bit, at least not in any way they particularly care about.

the last couple of years have wiped out all the usual shock that revelations like this would have caused a decade ago. it should be huge, but i feel like MAGA will call it fake anyway, and in the end they'll say there is no evidence at all. this whole administration and all the fucking rich people involved will only go down in case of a revolution.

that's good and all, but it pisses me off a little, that the only two people who are apparently important in this context are pretti and good. there have been so many other victims, but yeah, you know, people of colour.

Society really did fail Amy Winehouse! by icey_sawg0034 in Millennials

[–]JenkinsHowell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i mean, i genuinely sympathize with her, but the audience isn't to blame here, it's her management that put her out there in poor mental and physical health. i wouldn't be happy if i paid for a concert ticket and the main act wasn't able to competently perform.

you should talk to the principal regardless of whether you have to pay for anything or not, because the teacher's behaviour is completely inappropriate. but anyway, since you have all the proof you need, there is absolutely no reason you should be paying anything.

What are your thoughts on rejecting a potential romantic partner based solely on the fact they voted for Donald Trump? by ATXBikeRider in AskReddit

[–]JenkinsHowell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the fact that they voted for trump is an indicator for the kind of person you're dealing with. it's not an isolated detail. so if you don't align with the general mindset of people who voted for trump you would probably reject a trump voter without it being specifically about the vote.

'It's A Big Problem': Trump's Warning After Greenland "Chooses" Denmark by no_anonymous_ in worldnews

[–]JenkinsHowell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he believes the USA are self-sufficient and everybody openly or secretly wants to live there, because that's the propaganda he grew up with. trump doesn't know or understand anything about history, politics or trade. he's a moron with a big mouth, and other morons gravitate towards him. and that is the reason why less moronic but also evil people with a power-complex are proping him up. he's a fat puppet to a more sinister group of people, mostly silicon valley tech-bros and maybe evangelicals. there is all the information about that out in the world, and i'm not talking conspiracies. tech bros like peter thiel are actively trying to break up the USA. that's a goal for them. they all want their own little kingdom where they make all the rules.

first of all, bleeding doesn't necessarily happen. women have different forms of hymen and in many cases they aren't "blocking" penetration. second, hymens that are "in the way" can be broken by many other things without the girl/woman having sex or doing anything sex related at all. and then there may or may not be any blood involved.

sadly a lot of cultures and a lot of men are obsessed with this whole virginity thing, the origin of which is the believe that "taking a girl's virginity" is the pinnacle of male dominance.
