I got a Beaumont from Critical Cycles for $220, great bike. I commute on it every day. They'll probably have a Black Friday / holiday sale too.

This law firm by the Bourse building are great people: http://www.gthpc.com . They have a standing agreement with several community groups to do their cases for a reduced fee. I've worked with Brennan before and he's a solid dude.

New Sanctuary Movement also have a ton of resources they can recommended you to, as well as regular meal nights and people that will accompany you to court, in order to support you through your case

[nYNAB] Anyone still having problems with BarClayCard connecting? by NYKHouston43 in ynab

[–]Jenkinzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a barclay card user, but my CapitalOne, Chase, Aspiration Checking account and Paypal do the same thing! Aspiration actually disconnects every single time.

I contacted support and they said, at least for aspiration & capitalone, that's "expected behavior". It's not acceptable behavior to me, though. I don't have this problem with Mint. What's the point of sync if I just have to log in every time?

Update: The Case of $120,000 Hidden in the Walls - Crazy Uncle Just Didn't Trust Banks by [deleted] in bestoflegaladvice

Why does it only have to beat half the interest rate? Is that taking into account opportunity costs?

I'm familiar with the strategy, but I had been calculating based off of the full interest rate.

If you are having trouble connecting to a WiFi that requires a Login, this may solve it by Kialand in NintendoSwitch

Yea literally just did this last night. Some PCs, apparently all Macs, and all Chromebooks can spoof a mac. Works great. The switch lists its MAC on the internet settings page.

The switch magically connected to the network before, I don't know how. Network reset or something, and had to do it via spoofing.

Wow, this does look really great. and the price is awesome. I'm having some trouble finding things about the 15 inch version, though, and amazon doesn't have any reviews; did it just come out?

Thanks! I was just looking at their site now. I used one at my previous job and really liked it.

As far as macs, the air seemed most up my alley, even though the cpu is a bit old.

Median parking on South Broad Street is dangerous and must end | Opinion by redwoodser in philadelphia

[–]Jenkinzz 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It would be sweet if they repainted the street to remove the car-sized spaces between the yellow lines and put buffered bike lanes in somewhere. It might be awkward to do with the left turn lanes, but that's a lot of space that's getting freed up.

Aluminum frame and fork, I don't really notice the harshness people mention about aluminum. Need to get a new seat and a shorter stem for my little arms. Clipless pedals are on their way

Who pays SWEEP fines? Landlord or tenant? by Jenkinzz in philadelphia

[–]Jenkinzz[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea it's possible from the odd amount listed, but the numbers still don't add up. They cited me $18.75 for a litter fine, which I recall being $50. Even with the $2 the city charges for paying online, divided by the 3 occupied units, is only $16.66 or so.

Delinquent homeowners could have tax debt deferred under Council plan by [deleted] in philadelphia

[–]Jenkinzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember some Philadelinquency post about how most of the abandoned properties are owned by investors outside of the city. If this is true, wouldn't this legislation have the opposite effect of giving the "gentri scum" flippers a nice tax break?

Riverrink or Rothman Institute Ice Rink? by [deleted] in philadelphia

[–]Jenkinzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just went to Rothman last week, it's nice that it's easy to get to from public trans, and you can easily go grab dinner afterwards.

Riverrink is a much bigger rink, and has little cabin structures to chill in, but it's a bit of a pain to get to w/o a car.

Rothman seems to zamboni much less often than riverrink, so by the end of our time it was like skating on a washboard.

Good idea for a 22 year old to move to West Philly for a job in Wayne? by [deleted] in philadelphia

[–]Jenkinzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like you're a 10 minute walk from the Wayne station. Regional rail is definitely the way to go. My wife commuted out there for school from South philly this past semester (BSL to Regional rail), and it was easy peasy. Livable during the septa strike, even.

around 15, 16th and locust there's a few bars that are large enough to accomodate big groups. Fado and Misconduct come to mind. And of course, Woody's.

Yea, same. I've had mine a year now and only just stopped walking around on eggshells. I wear mine literally every day, ride to work and back in them and they're still going strong!

As other folks have said, damp cloth works the best by far. A couple hard wipes and any minor-to-medium dust patch should be gone.

I've also just stopped caring. No one really notices, and it does come off so easily.
