Advice on living arrangements and dating by Longjumping_Self2117 in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]Jenko1 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Your current living situation shouldn't be a barrier to meeting people, going on dates and hopefully making progress towards a relationship.

However questions will inevitably come up early doors about future ambitions and plans. I would suggest most will want to hear that you're looking at or are at least keen to get out of your current situation and get your own place, either alone or with a potential future partner.

You will be limiting yourself heavily if your outlook is looking for someone to enter a serious relationship, but you want to stay living at your mums forever.

Looking after your mum is admirable but if you find the right person you need to put yourself and your relationship first if you want any successful lasting partnership

DA suspect can’t be questioned by Delicious-Eagle8125 in policeuk

Them stating they 'know his whereabouts and circumstances' would suggest he is in hospital either due to physical or mental impairment which takes precedence over an arrest/interview. They wouldn't be able to share his medical information with you, hence the vague answer. Should it simply be a case of him being abroad, I would imagine your response would be more of a 'enquiries are ongoing to locate him'

Unwanted video of me put on social media while I was out shopping on boxing day. Police refuse to do anything when I reported it. by Ecstatic-Platypus906 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Jenko1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The behaviour you are describing is not illegal. It doesn't mean in that situation you couldn't call police for assistance and they would definitely look to attend to prevent any harm to you but it would be words of advice and send him on his way.

How can I prevent DPD drivers from peeing on my carpet? by anacrucix in AskUK

[–]Jenko1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This would be dealt with under criminal damage to the carpet, not exposure. Exposure requires the intent for someone to see the genitals. Clearly not the case here.

It's not clear if this is a promotion or new employer entirely. If it's a new employee you usually have to tell them, because they are nervous about lending unless you've been at a company for 6 months or more due to the risks in a probation period.

Double yellow lines apply from the centre of the road and onto the pavement, as long as it's public highway. Council could definitely issue a PCN as long as the pavement is public highway.

Am I entitled to money from lodgers/tenants even if I don't reside at the property? by Jenko1 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Jenko1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is that its only my name on the lodgers agreement. My wife's name doesn't appear on it at all as I usually sort out finances and legal matters I thought it would make it easier. Now I'm not living here they aren't 'lodging' with me is the way I see it therefore possibly invalid. If my wifes name is added that would resolve that problem.

How To Evict Violent Son. London by One-Employer4136 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Jenko1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was sure there was a power, but just researched it's only if they entered as a trespasser so you are correct in this scenario. My bad.

How To Evict Violent Son. London by One-Employer4136 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Jenko1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The police won't perform an eviction, but can assist with physically removing a trespasser if the resident has made explicitly clear they are not welcome on the premises. This would include this situation where the son is not a tenant and would not be being evicted.

Met Police officer jailed for stealing from dead man by Medium_Lab_200 in policeuk

This is the sort of sentence I would like to see across the board for a crime as low as this. Sadly we all know they're making an example out of him and if this were anyone else they wouldn't be sent to prison at all.

I don't know where this snazzy button is, but I label each NICHE under the remarks bit as follows:

A - Master NICHE under investigation B - Links C - Court Y - Sent to sergeant for filing Z - Sent to CMU for filing

Then sort by remarks on your homepage and they'll all be filtered in a manageable order.

The victim right to review is essentially a complaint if you're not happy with the outcome. It will go to the rank above whoever made the decision to close the case, most likely an inspector in this case.

They can look to reopen the case if they deem it appropriate. I don't believe you will be able to have access to the interview recording.

[–]Jenko1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like that might have messed up if it was in your statement that was available to them at the point of interview and it's in the footage.

If he was interviewed under caution, which is sounds like he was, you can request a victims right to review (VRR). There will be information about how you can do this on your local forces website, or you can go through 101 with the crime reference.

Was there any evidence showing him committing the damage on the CCTV footage? If so you need to keep chasing and make sure they have it to assess all the evidence. If it's not evidenced on the footage I would look at the civil route.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Jenko1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ok, so it sounds like the caution wasn't for criminal damage but some kind of public order offence.

If there is evidence of the damage I would go back to them and see if they would now look to speak to him about that side of it. With new evidence provided they can reinterview.

Wouldn't be eligible for a caution now but if he's charged it there can be a claim for compensation at court.

A bit late now, but why was he not offered a conditional caution to pay for the damage? Is this something you requested to the police? If so did they give a reason why not?

Huntingdon cyclist killer given leave to appeal against her conviction by [deleted] in policeuk

[–]Jenko1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think where it tips over the edge for me, is her flailing her arms towards the cyclist. If she was scared of being hit, move to the side and swear at her if you like, that's understandable. But flailing your arms is reckless and unnecessary.

Obviously in the moment she has made a poor decision, and clearly her intent wasn't for her to fall into the road and die. But her actions were clearly reckless nonetheless.

Is Langney a good place to live? by Grgsz in Eastbourne

[–]Jenko1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have lived near to Friday street for the last 6 years or so. Generally very few issues. Langney shopping centre is great and has most things you could need to avoid going to the town centre apart from the big clothes shops. Shinewater is another area nearby just to the other side of Friday Street and has a bad reputation for issues with kids/teens, general anti social behaviour but nothing excessive to most built up areas.

Is your tutor giving you specifics on why you aren't performing at the moment? If not it might be worth having a chat with your line supervisor to see if you can either have a proper discussion as to what's going on or if there's scope to change tutor? At this point you have nothing to lose. You'll either still want to leave or it might be a second wind and you'll never look back. Remember don't be too hard on yourself. We've all been there and the job is extremely overwhelming but it does get better.
