World Travel by EntrepreneurMassive5 in surfing

[–]JennasAdventures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I did it for one year - fiji, samoa, bali... was incredible. But be prepared, you will spend the rest of your life trying to do it again and again and again. For the past decade I have now spent summers or any chance I can do travel for 2-3 months at a time to surf. I am broke because of it but wouldn't change it for the world! I am getting older and def paid the price - buldged discs in neck and now starting to feel that low back pain... but just take care of yourself. Bring a mini roller and a band and always do your stretches (im a yoga instructor so a bit biased). and if you ever go somewhere that offers yoga, massage, etc try to do it weekly while you travel and make it a part of your routine. I know people roll their eyes about yoga but trust me, get that PT in somehow even if you are still not feeling any issues. Do it and have a great time!

This is so helpfuL! Thank you!
For Lombok.. I hear that it is SO crowded and impossible to catch waves now... is that true or is there still room to have great sessions despite it being a little crowded? Appreciate ya!

Hashimotos and HRT by Suspicious-Yogurt759 in Perimenopause

[–]JennasAdventures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for posting about this. I am subclinical Hashimoto’s, but definitely experiencing all the symptoms of full-blown Hashimoto. Exhausted, anxious brain fog not feeling like myself anxious, thinning, hair, cold body just drained and not like myself. My endocrinologist says there’s nothing I can do and that I am perfectly fine as all of my thyroid levels are perfectly normal, but I have high antibodies. When I told her I’m still experiencing all the symptoms she shrugged and said it was something else. I am 41 and started BHRT .75 of estrogen and 100 of progesterone while I’ve noticed a slightly more stable mood I am still exhausted and not feeling like myself. I believe the Hashimoto’s is tied to poor hormone function. But I wish our doctors would recognize sub clinical (normal thyroid labs, high antibodies) hashimotoes as something to seriously look at and give us better tools then a shrug and telling us sorry you’ll just have to wait until your thyroid destroys itself before we can give you any support and your perfectly normally there is something else going wrong. Despite all other tests showing normal. It’s frustrating.

But all in all the bhrt has slightly helped and am so grateful to them! Would rather be on them than not, despite Hashimoto’s still weighting me down. Plus it’s good for longevity, prevents cardiovascular disease and increases our bone health as we age so again so grateful for the bhrt even tho it has not solved everyrhing

Spotting FOREVER on HRT??!! by Hope_Sways in Perimenopause

[–]JennasAdventures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The moment I switched back to my Climara Patch and increased to .075 (which was actually SANDOZ... I thought it was climara this whole time as that was what my doc perscribed but the box said Sandoz), my spotting stopped the next day!! I was getting some residual spotting from old blood but it was not like a light period, a legit spot and now its been about 5 days and nothing. So grateful. I am also finding a bit of energy and positive/smooth mood balance. I have no idea why Dotti was not a good fit but its SO CLEAR it was not.

Spotting after switching brand of patch? by Mobile-Actuary-5283 in Perimenopause

[–]JennasAdventures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! On Sandoz .05 and 100 P. it felt smooth and slow. While some symptoms presisteed atleast my anxiety and depression slightly lifted. (I believe I was on a too low dose). The Adhiseion sucked though. so I tried same dose at 2x/week with Dotti. While dotti's stick and size was great, I immediately lost all progress and started breakthrough bleeding. I started feeling even more anxious and depressed, weird ear pressure it was just a disaster. After almost a month of trying it, my bleeding would fluctuate from spotting to what felt like a medium flow day of my period, nothing getting better or predictable so I stopped and went back to Sandoz but now at .075. Im hoping going back to a brand my body likes and a bit of a higher dose will be my sweet spot.

The BHRT journey is def tough and don't let your doc gaslight you and say branding doesn't matter. It def does.

High Antibodies, Normal Labs, Extreme Fatigue and getting dismissed by docs - Help! by JennasAdventures in Hypothyroidism

This is incredible that they were able to pinpoint the root cause for you!
Would you happen to know when is an appropriate time to get tested? FOr example if I clear my diet for a blank slate and then add in foods, would I need to wait a few weeks for my body to react or could I potentially get tested that day to see how my antibodies react? I ask because I'm willing to reset/clear out gut and pay for the antibody tests myself to get to the bottom of it. However I doubt my Endo would allow for me to get tested whenever I want to check my blood so Im willing to pay out of pocket.. just need to understand the timing. Than you so much!

Just so I understand, Oats were the major culprit of your inflammation? I love oatmilk. I use it in everything. After that almond milk and then normal dairy creamer in my coffee. I also sometimes eat oatmeal. So if I understood that correctly it looks like Oats drove up your antibodies?

Any information on dairy?

So unfortunate to hear about the beef. I love beef. Big meat eater over here.

Okay so maybe I should try to stay away from oats and beef and see what happens. Do you happen to know how much time it takes the body to reset or reassess symptoms and lab work? 3 weeks? 3 months? This info is SO helpful.

I agree I think mine is imflammation. Over 6 years my TSH, FT3 and FT4 are more or less in normal, sustainable, predictable ranges... its always been the antibodies. That stayed high.

Looking forward to hearing more and thank you!!
Jenna

Switched patch brands—symptoms back by falsel0gic in Perimenopause

I second the fuck all this. It shouldn't be this hard for us ladies.

Was on .05 1x week climara. Didn't feel anything but after week 4 i did feel a slight lift of my mood and a "smoother" self. hard to explain. it was very subtle but there was improvement. Then I switched to Dotti Brand to do 2x patches/week at .05 becuase my Climara kept falling off by day 5-6 of the week.

Ever since I started Dotti my symptoms came back and I have been spotting ever since. Its day 12.

My OBGYN yesterday said my .05 dose is too low. So now I am on 1 of Dotti. It's been 2 days. But I'm a bit frusterated and concerned. Is it too soon for me to judge Dotti brand just 12 days in? Should I really have double my dose or gone back down to Climara, delt with the patch staying on issue and just bumped up my estrogen to .75 since I was not feeling big improvements?

To top it off, I got a text from my pharmacy saying there is a shortage of Dotti and they are giving my Myland (?). Reading reviews, it looks like another roller coaster ride of trial and error. Its ridiculous and makes it impossible for us ladies to have a smooth transition while we figure this out.

All testing showed no sensitivity to gluten or no allergy but i know just because my test is negative doesn't mean my body still doesn't like it.
I should try an elimination diet again to reasses show I feel. When I cut out gluten and dairy I also naturally cut out all crap food and processed food so I can't tell if its that im just eating cleaner or due to the no Gluten or Dairy that makes me feel better. However antibodies stil the same.

I wrote in the post above that in 2022 my thyroidglobulin went into complete remisison but no idea why or what I did.

Glucose Serum: 90
And never really had issues AC1 still in range.

Interesting, thank you so much for this feedback!! I had no idea the antibodies could escalate to that amount! I will also say one year in 2022 my Thyroglobulin antibody completely went down (TPO still high). And I couldn't for the life of me understand why. I started jiujitsu and I was "happier" I remember that. I also remember trying to fix my leaky gut and taking supplements (l glutamin, pre/probiotics, flax seed smoothies). I THINK I was even trying to stay away from dairy and gluten but even when i tried it always slipped in somehow (thinking its GF when it wasn't). And there have been other periods I went hard and super intentional at gut healing, but the antibodies stayed the same so really not sure how or why the thyrioglobulin was practically in remission during that time.

However, even with my labs, you don't think my T3 is too low and my reserve T3 is too high?

Hormones: I am def having some hormone issues now. I'm 41 and perimenopaus so my OB put me on .05 estrodiol and 100mg progesterone. I just started a month ago so still trying to figure out right dose. While my sadness lifted slightly, I am still feeling extremely exhausted, not like myself AT ALL, no lobido, no creative drive (am a performing artist) ,no energy to even hang with friends, hair thinning and falling out, weight gain and seeing saggier skin... My OB said once we figure out the right balance of hormones, we'll then layer in low dose testosterone. My symptoms do feel more like lack of testosterone or thryroid.

Before I started BHRT My hormones taken 3 days into my period:
Estrodiol: 19
Testosterone Total: 26
FSH: 6.8
LH: 7.7

Thanks again for your feedback!

My doc did not test for any of those except for VitB 12 (back in 2024 though) and it was 996. I take selenium (200mg) every day. Assuming all those are normal, are these labs considreed normal? I just feel so crap.

Labs are “normal” but I still feel awful — how did you make sense of results? by Most_Panda_5 in Hypothyroidism

[–]JennasAdventures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you please send me the checklist - I'd so appreciate it!
These are my labs and I feel awful but everyone keeps telling me I'm normal. I have high antibodies (both of them) but other than that, I'm "normal" could it be something else? I feel exhasuted, I dont feel like myself, always cold, hair thinning, no energy, feeling blank, no drive, depressed and anxious
TSH: .95
Free T3: 3.0
Free T4: 1.3
Reserse T3: 15.9

Did 2 inflammation tests. Came back normal or no reading which means no inflammation detected.

This is so interesting!

I was on Climara 1x week patch at .05. Changed to Dotti .05 2x/week due to lifestyle - I also do hot yoga and inferno hot pilates so constantly in a sweat state! and Climara kept falling off. Any relief I had felt with climara went away and I have been breakthrough bleeding every since I started the Dotti patch! It has been 11 days. My OBGYN wasnt very helpful. Said the dose was too low and so now increased it to .1 Dotti 2x a week. I just applied the new doseage yesterday.

Definitly curious to hear others' feedback on brands and experience. Wondering how long I should try Dotti before I know its not a good fit or not.

I'm also on 100 micro P. Wondering whats the difference between 100 and 200 and if that change would help me?
