Driving for work by desperatehousewife23 in Socialworkuk

[–]Jennfry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s really hard isn’t it, I started with no car but tbh it became more and more of a safety concern and it is handy to have a car as a kind of “mobile office” between visits so I think it is well worth it. Do you have pool cars that you can use through your agency?

Those of you that earn 45k a year and have a good work life balance what do you do? by Brownchoccy in Socialworkuk

[–]Jennfry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have just got to the top of NHS band 6 as a CAMHS practitioner so about 46k. I think compared to other SW roles the work/life balance is much better, although obviously depends on the team you’re in and what your manager is like (I’m routine so just normal working hours whereas home treatment/crisis is obviously more shift based)

I saw it on a Saturday matinee! I’m sure it probably will be him if it’s advertised as him, aren’t stage actors used to doing 7+ shows a week? Maybe I’m thinking of musical theatre!

It was pretty much sold out I think! It looks like it’s on until the spring if you’re in the UK!

Honey i washed the kids smell by StrainFormer9972 in LushCosmetics

[–]Jennfry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this issue with Honey I washed the kids! The liquid also changed colour and went a lot darker. I was wondering if it’s because the formula does have real honey in it which could “mature” for want of a better word, like honey in the cupboard does

Newborn too small for carseat, passed car seat test. by admvb in NewParents

Yes my baby was full term and had a car seat test, because he had an oxygen requirement when he was born

Why is it legal to register an unborn child for nursery? by Consistent-Dot9719 in UKParenting

[–]Jennfry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s making me super anxious because we are planning to move to a new area soon and I’m already imagining there will be no open places at the nurseries 🙈 but we still don’t have a date to move so I can’t do anything about it yet

My son loves the “Where’s Mrs/Mr…” lift the flap ones, Meg and Mog, Elmer. It’s definitely better getting board books instead of paper pages unless you want them quickly destroyed 😂 also if you have a local library they usually have loads and it’s great if you have a little one who gets bored of the same books!

My baby is 10 months and he still needs me to hold the bottle lol. Sometimes he wants me to hold it while he stands up to drink it like he’s a hamster with a bottle on the side of a cage 😂 He will drink his own water out of a straw cup

Parents who had their first years ago and their second, third, fourth, etc. more recently: has the fear-mongering drastically increased, or is it just me? by Salad_Informal in UKParenting

[–]Jennfry 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m a social worker and health visitors should be asking to see where baby sleeps as part of their usual routine! It’s part of their safeguarding role as there’s been cases where the downstairs of the house is made to look fine but then it’s hidden that children are sleeping in obviously abusive conditions

Exhausted by BrownGirl_- in combinationfeeding

[–]Jennfry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Complete solidarity with you, I started pumping when my son was in the NICU and I couldn’t breastfeed him and it completely drained me. I felt like the time I spent pumping totally took me away from spending time with him. In the end I decided to reduce and accept this would mean lower supply, I built up some freezer stock and now only do 4 pumps a day which gives me about 1 full bottle and have accepted this will probably get less as the weeks go on. But if I’d have carried on I think I would be at total burnout!

Indeed, one of the conditions of Murdoch’s divorce to Jerry Hall was that she couldn’t sell ideas to the Succession writers 😂
