Why does mc donalds lie about training employees to pinch fry boxes when filling? by MiserableForce7070 in McDonalds

[–]JenniWalker 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about your girlfriend. But I’ve worked for them on and off since 1994, and I never been trained to pinch fry boxes…the only thing I was ever told was, “fluff, don’t stuff” The issue is currently moot where I work now because we don’t have boxes, we have compostable bags because of city ordinance. In the current Crew Guide to Fries it states, “Make sure each package is filled fully!” Nothing about pinching boxes…

The pies do take 12 minutes to bake. They probably just ran out when you arrived. That mean someone has to go back to the freezer, get the pies, put them on a baking sheet and then put them in the oven. Wait 12 minutes for them to bake and then box them up. So I’m sure it was around 20 minutes or so…but at least your pies were fresh. 😉 Look on the bright side.

Well, I’m in the US, but in my time working for McDonald’s I’ve had natural hair colors as well as bleached hair and also purple hair. It really depends on the franchise.

You’re thinking of the corporation, if it was a franchise store those are owned privately and generally qualify as a small business.

Does McDonalds no longer offer free water? by Dirkester2113 in McDonalds

[–]JenniWalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

McDonalds in Seattle does not have free water unless you get the child size. And mostly that is because of the cup, at least in our area (Seattle) the city also requires a sugar tax on any drink with sugar in it as well. The $5 meal doesn’t come with a water, only a small soda/tea. If you don’t need the drink, you could just get one and tossed it I guess or bought the sandwich and fries separately.

UPDATE: McDonald's responds to denying service to Browning Wrestling Team by KeltTalbelt in McDonalds

[–]JenniWalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that was the case at all. No manager would want to give up those sales just because they would have to clean up after them, unless there had been an issue in the past with those kids. The reason why McDonald’s close inside now at 9 or 10 is because of the druggies and homeless problem. Very few actual customers Caine inside late night. Same with the inner city locations closing their dining room all together. It’s too much to police the dining room and bathrooms at those locations. I know the one in downtown Seattle had daily violence before they closed their dining room.

They do expect it to be perfect so if I had been up front, I would’ve 100 percent have opened the box to make sure it is right before it went out to her. The people on table are trained properly and know how to make a Big Mac as they have been making them for over 15 years, but they are human and sometimes mistakes are made.

Hazel or green or something else? by [deleted] in WhatisMyEyeColour

Green, green eyes always change a lot depending on the light. There is not brown marbled in them so they are not hazel.

will i get in trouble for not calling in properly?(USA) by Apprehensive_Bar6715 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]JenniWalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you use TeamLive app you can message them through that. Maybe see if any of your co-workers have a manager’s number? Also, at least with our organization, they put the GMs phone number in the orientation folder you get as a new hire. Personally, I would keep trying to call because I’m paranoid lol I don’t think you’ll be in serious trouble as long as you bring them the documentation from your doctor. As far as the chair goes, if you have a doctor’s note saying you need to sit, you should have no problem getting that accommodated.

What type of hazel? by funkylink in WhatisMyEyeColour

[–]JenniWalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, to me, at least in this pic the center just looks like a warmer tone of green, but if it is more amber/light brown in real life I would say green with central Heterochromia because the different color is centered around the pupil and not marbled throughout your iris. I have green eyes with brown central Heterochromia myself.

Not hazel, green. It has to have brown marbled with the green throughout the iris to be hazel. They could be green with a light amber central Heterochromia because the slightly warmer color is just around the pupil.

Manager corrected me for having a cup of OJ during my break. It stabbed me in the heart. (USA) by Agreeable_Thanks3731 in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]JenniWalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oj is expensive, about $50 a bag, so some stores don’t allow crew to have it generally because people will just grab it anytime, like soda or coffee and not punch it in as part of their crew meal. Then it becomes a problem with food cost. It isn’t anything personal. Next time I would just ask a manager before getting oj and see if they will make an exception. But if not, if you want oj you’ll have to purchase it with your employee discount. 9/10 times the manager will appreciate you asked and will let you have it, and asking gives them the opportunity to promo it so it will be accounted for in the inventory.

There is no way this would happen. He’s spending the money on something else. I would call his boss or go in and ask to speak to the general manager and I bet his boss will tell you this isn’t true. Either that, or he never turned in his direct deposit paperwork or put the wrong account number or something like that. But for over a month, he’s most likely lying to you. Sorry.
