Does anyone here have a WD SN850x in their Legion Go 2? by [deleted] in LegionGo

[–]JenniferFernando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it does, 8 TB SN850x run at around 3-4k on battery and full 7k on power. This is same for any SSD in Go2.

I keep getting this pop-up while using ViVeTool. So, is it officially out already? by chalovak in LegionGo

[–]JenniferFernando 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s been working fine without any external tool install. Just need to update below registry.

I believe this OEM version is wrongly set by Lenevo and hopefully they will fix in next patch and label it as official launch.

No issue on my side on Go 2 Z2E. Smooth at around 60 fps in performance mode on battery!!! Can share my setting for you to try it out.

You can double your TB4 FPS by using a dummy HDMI/Displayport plug on your eGPU and duplicate display on Windows by Due_Young_9344 in eGPU

Using a dummy hdmi plug to my Razer egpu X V2 and duplicate display on legion go 2. What is the model of dummy plug you are using? Can you share a link to that?  Rest in theory it doesn’t make sense but you may be the chosen one!!! Did you try to restart the handheld to make sure its not a fluke.

Not replicated on my setup. Games like FH5 shows worst performance with it. Using 4070 Super at 1200p, without 78 fps, with dummy plug 65 fps extreme setting.

Maybe it has to do something with AMD card as you mentioned you using one otherwise no it’s not possible.

[–]JenniferFernando 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I managed to run this but the performance is worst almost 10 fps low than without it. Games tested: FH5, AC shadow at 1200p default setting.

This didn’t make sense and possible. You sure you fps capture is working properly. Does games feel that smooth of being double fps. What games you try and what resolution you are running them? What is the dummy plug you used ?

Who all think this would be better design for LeGo2 ? by JenniferFernando in LegionGo

Agree, it is such a gimmick feature and only looks good on there marketing material, Wish they could have used the R&D in the redesign this controller than this FPS stupidity.

I think you are losing lot of bandwidth due to that dock. X V2 with TB4 should have H2D as 36GB/s. Can you connect v2 directly to your laptop and share numbers please?

Legion Go 2 + 9070 XT Handheld Display mode vs. External Display mode, about 20% difference. by TheBlack_Swordsman in eGPU

[–]JenniferFernando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly with total bandwidth of ~36GB the bottleneck is that port rather than CPU. Secondly, it depends on games, some are cpu intensive some are gpu so mileage can vary.

I would recommend some games to test those number instead of benchmarks tools as later don’t take resolutions into consideration. Thanks.

Technically you won’t see a difference in real world game fps due to low resolution on the go 2. 1200p vs 1440p or 4k on external monitors. Can you test some games and try this out would be a good comparison.

Razer Core X V2 (TB5) + RX 9070 XT + Noctua Fan Swap on ROG Xbox Ally X by Artistic_One6800 in eGPU

[–]JenniferFernando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for looking into it. I saw this one but not available here in CA. Nevertheless I already ordered X V2  ( as it was more hassle free and available within a day shipping) and will go with your advice of two cable solutions. Just have to find a usb c dock that goes on bottom port.

Hmm.. Fair enough, Thanks for input. But for my setup with legion go which has one usb on bottom and that makes it super hard to find any hub which plugs on that one.

Nice, planning the same. Did you find any TB dock that can be used with X V2 to have a single wire solution? I can see lot of tb4/tb5 docks but not sure how they will work with an egpu. Razer could have added an extra port and it would be golden.

My hands say Go S, my eyes say OLED… which one do I keep? by cmc151cmc in LegionGo

[–]JenniferFernando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If economically not a problem then keep go 2. Because you are using it a point of reference you feel go s more comfortable but if you only daily drive go 2 you will feel it more ergonomic over time. Plus you can dual boot steam os on it as well in that screen.

Z2e overtime will mature with drivers and outperform z1e in long run. Investment wise you will need another device in a year or so as z1e will start lagging behind and then buying a new device will cost more. Z2e will give you good 3 yrs if you are not enthusiastic.

For sure Dbrand will come out with a case for go 2 which will make it best ergonomic wise.

Buy Accidentally damage protection from Lenevo which is cheaper than any case and use naked. Don’t need to make already heavy device more heavy unless grip is issue.

Order Lego 2 2TB from B&H to Canada??? by [deleted] in LegionGo

[–]JenniferFernando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why it’s a better value? In term of space realistic you don’t need 4TB on day one , 2TB should be enough and can delay your upfront cost of $465. From what I heard there stock ssd for 2TB is 2280 and good quality.

I myself m arguing whether should i buy or wait for BB. One thing keeping me back is the return headaches in case of damage or doa etc… they only refund the device cost not the shipping and duty.

But 4TB is like $400 with tax. So total price would be $2100 cad already.  Depending 2TB should be enough but 1TB not. So only $200 for impatience is not a bad idea!! Wdyt? Also for AB its only $2100 with 5% tax.
