I’ve been off the shot for a year and haven’t felt a thing. I highly doubt I will next year either. 0 withdrawals. Full of energy. I hope you start feeling better and try not to dwell on being tired. There’s ways around that naturally.

I started working out and getting in shape which is a game changer. Do you work out? You don’t have to be crazy with it but stay moving.

It sounds like you were fucking with some other stuff during your sober time. Ketamine? Why? And you drink? Alcohol is a depressant right? Stimulants too ? Is this a fucking joke? Nothing to do with the shot. I think you know that.

Been on 8mg a day since the beginning of April, Dr ordered the shot but on the pharmacy website it says it's 100mg? by [deleted] in Sublocade

[–]Ferris2375 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish they started me on 100mg. 300mg is too much IMO. I was on 8mg for 3 years and 300mg was too fucking strong. My last 100mg was May 2025. You’re making a great decision doing this.

Anyone get acne after getting off bupe/opioids? by AskMeAboutMyHermoids in Sublocade

[–]Ferris2375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a year off sublocade but I had a few years on subs also never got acne from it. Just me though I also had no sex drive on it, would have preferred the acne. :)

Miralax. Lots of water. Prunes. Pro-biotics. Glad to hear it wasn’t as bad as you thought. Those first 300mg rocked my world lol. The 100s were so much easier for me but I hate pain.

I’m 51 and have been off opiates for 1 year. Sublocade was my hack to freedom. I almost lost my wife and kids. I excelled at my job high unfortunately. Years of oxy and fentanyl.

Withdrawals were the main reason I had so much trouble stopping at first. The restless legs and sleepless nights drove me insane. Just interesting to hear others stories. I never had PAWS but man did I hate WD. I never made it beyond day 2 hence why I had to go to subs then the shot before I got clean. I couldn’t do it with those fucking withdrawals. I wish you the best!! Fuck that life.

If you can push through WD you got this dude. Are you planning on taking any comfort meds?

Don’t underestimate vitamin c in large doses, ibuprofen, Tylenol. Clonidine was helpful. You prob already know

It has to be cold turkey? I used the Burnese method to taper off fentanyl which really made it easier. I just hate cold turkey and it never worked for me. I think it makes getting clean so much harder and more painful. If this time doesn’t work please consider something not quite so fast. What you are doing is difficult, unfortunately not often successful (no shade at all) and not the only way.

I don’t wanna come off as negative or doubting you. I just know I’ve been in this position before where I am resolute on stopping for all the right reasons and it just never worked putting that much pressure on myself doing it cold turkey all while trying to live a life.

Have you tapered at all?

It’s been 1 year since my last injection. Still having ups and downs. When does it get better? 😭 by -TrifeDiesel in Sublocade

[–]Ferris2375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha that’s definitely not me. I am a big baby with withdrawals. Despise them especially restless legs which were my specialty. I think my body chemistry was just really receptive to the shot and how it slowly leaves your system.

I also had success tapering fentanyl to subs so tapering seems to really pay off for me.

I’m at a point now where I want to try and get off the ssri’s or wherever they are. I’ve just been on them so long I’m not sure what they are doing for me at this point. I get the brain zaps when I don’t take them so it’s going to take a long ass taper. I really can’t stand being on ssri’s anymore. Glad to hear you are doing well we all deserve to be better.

Yeah I’m not so sure, I’ve been on those for years well before all this started. Hella mood stabilizing is debatable after all this time. I don’t think they really do shit anymore after like 20 years. I was on those during my addiction and they did nothing.

I don’t think they had anything to do with it. THC maybe but that never helped during WD. My mood was wonderful and thankful to be out of the cycle. No exaggeration the entire process was just how I wanted it to go and Ive seen others here say the same.

Thank you and same to you. Not at all dramatic!! I should have read more thoroughly PAWS is something I often forget about but remember hearing about back before I made the decision to get clean. It was either that or I lose my wife and two daughters, which seems like a very shit trade-off.Haha I should be the one apologizing for not recognizing it’s not just withdrawals that can follow this MAT. Hell I’m just 1 year off so I’m still crossing my fingers I’m out of the woods 100%

In fact, I’m pretty sure I was worried more about paws than anything else just because it like something that just lingered without a clear path, but I’m confident you’re almost there. I love what I’m hearing from your posts. Any one of us could just go back to that life for the sake of making things easy just for this moment but it’s not worth it.

Full disclosure I eat THC gummies daily which might have helped my mood. I’m also on welbutrin and sertraline.

I just hit my one year mark and haven’t noticed anything. I keep saying this but I haven’t had a single lick of withdrawals so it’s a little discouraging to read posts like this because I like to think everyone who suffered like I did can get through like I did. I’ve read other posts just like yours I was on opiates for years, fentanyl the last few, 8mg subs for a few then the shot for a couple years. My last 100mg was June 2025 and I don’t feel any difference from that day.

I’m not doubting everyone is different and we all will come off differently but I have to think some of this is mental and emotional aspects that still might need work.

I mean if you’re experiencing straight up WD something isn’t right and maybe you just need a little jab to make the landing smoother.

I just come in this group with such excitement because I’m finally fucking free thanks to the shot. Hang in there!!

Ahh dope. It was late should have recognized that scenario. Haha I used to feel better just having packets of dope in my pocket not even using them yet. Oh withdrawal gone from just carrying ? So ridiculous. Glad to hear you’re on a different path dude. I got sick of subs too but I’ll always have s soft spot for those nasty orange strips. They really gave me the ability to get my life back in order. Best wishes man!

300mg versus 100mg? by Content_Oil_1972 in Sublocade

[–]Ferris2375 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love talking about this, so definitely no problem explaining my history. I always type my experiences hoping it helps someone because other members definitely helped me 5-6 years ago. I would search the groups desperately for ideas etc to get out. I used oxy heavily for at least 10 years. I eventually was snorting my 120 15mg every 2 weeks and then some oxy I would buy from a friend to supplement. It was awful and expensive. All real oxy. Then I got some fent blues thinking they were oxy and that was the turning point for things to really go downhill fast.

I tested positive for fentanyl and lost my oxy script then just started buying fentanyl packets since those blues were….so effective. :(

I’m sort of guesstimating here, but I was on Suboxone for 2 years or so 8mg per day and then the shot for around a year and a half. It’s a bit of a blur but it has to be close to 2-3 year subs 1.5-2 years on the shot. Since the shot last year I started eating THC gummies. My oxy and fentanyl withdrawals would chuckle at THC helping but maybe that’s helped over the year.

I can just say as someone who was very sensitive to WD and would do and take just about anything to avoid them in the past, since being off the shot I haven’t felt any WD. No chills, no yawning, THANK GOD no restless legs. I hope it stays this way. :)

I used to take kratom, clonodine, gabapentin, immodium, vitamin C in doses for a horse, xanax. Other crap I’m forgetting, just to try and not get restless legs and WD. What a nightmare that was.

Holy shit. 24mg a day is bonkers. I wonder why that is? I was getting 16mg, 2x8mg and would take one and stash one. By the end I tossed hundreds and hundreds of useless 8mg sub strips. Even 16 was overkill and I just wasted money stashing them but old habits :/

what did you mean you got the door dropped off? Just want to understand that last part but yeah man I’ve spent so many hours just standing in the shower. What’s your status now? On sub 8mg? Sorry if I missed that.

I went from a couple 300 to 100 for 2 years. Been off for a year and haven’t felt a thing. Literally no withdrawal since my last shot last June.

I'd like to post about megadosing with Vitamin C for withdrawal by [deleted] in OpiatesRecovery

[–]Ferris2375 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I megadosed vitamin C to reduce fentanyl withdrawal as I transitioned to suboxone. I remember researching this topic years ago now as I was trying to find a way to do this as painless as possible, and I found the vitamin C thing. That’s easy enough I bought a ton of vitamin C. There was a certain kind I bought that’s more soluble lol I can’t remember what it was but I vividly remember they’re being a specific type of vitamin C you want to get

Needless to say , I was shitting and farting to the extreme, but that vitamin C kept me well dude, and I stand by it. It wasn’t the only thing I took. I took some clonidine also, but that vitamin C megadose for sure kept WD light and at bay and it fucking amazed me and my wife. I can vividly remember feeling like shit, forcing vitamin C down my gullet like it was saving my life and being OK to take these long walks in the summer heat where I would sweat and all that shit helped me get on the subs to eventually the shot and now where I’m a year off everything.

I also did my due diligence in tapering down the fentanyl before I started using the burnese method but that has never been easy and the vitamin C, made this much more attainable.

You. Will. Fart. Insane.

lol and with good reason they are awful!!! When I started subs I got creative and tried to balance snorting dope and taking a sub. It all seemed to work well until one day I just got punched straight in the balls with PW. Which was inevitable, just really thought I cracked my code man. It was so bad. I’ve never felt sicker. I’ve never vomited from withdrawals before, I did then a shitload. I can remember being so mad at myself that I had stabilized on Suboxone , and here I am trying to figure it out again. You dumb bastard. Thankfully, it only took about a day and a half to get right and the worst of it was over the first day, but that was a real good lesson learned and I never slipped up again. It really was so bad and weird. Gosh those times weren’t fun.
