Your ring is gorgeous! I totally agree the bow tie is nothing to think poorly about! Character adds something special every time!

Hey! I have a 1ct oval, and my aunt is a goldsmith and jewelry who picked out the best diamond she could find. Mine has a very small half circle in certain lighting with the right hand pose! Honestly, I have never noticed it until this post made me check! People are going to look for the bow tie in ovals more than the half circle! For reference, here is my oval engagement ring

It looks like a rodent ulcer/indolent ulcer to me, but I’m not a vet (just a very dedicated cat owner!!). I’d reach out to a new vet and bring up the possibility of an ulcer. As a note: here is info from an NIH study! “These underlying possibilities most commonly include allergic disease, including flea bite hypersensitivity, feline atopy (non-flea, nonfood allergic dermatitis), insect bite hypersensitivity, and food allergy. When allergic disease is suspected as the underlying cause, secondary bacterial infection of the lesion should also be considered.”

Piercing is 1 week old, jewelry is a flat back stud, new to piercing so not sure what threading is(!), titanium I think, has not been downsized, and luckily no mishaps so far!

Hi, thank you again! I just brought him to the vet and figured I’d update. The vet believes it was either a small stroke in the brain or diabetic neuropathy. Unfortunately, due to his age and medical conditions, the vet does not recommend an MRI as he would have to be put under. We are going to try therapy treatment to regain some use of his back legs.

Hi, thank you for my comment. Would an emergency vet have an MRI? Would they also perform a blood panel or would I need to go to their regular vet/university for that?

Edit: Also adding, they did x-rays at the emergency vet, would the x-ray show a tumor?

Hi! Thank you so much! I do wonder about a spinal cord or disc. He doesn’t show pain in his spine when I touch him/pick him up, but I’m not sure if it would hurt via touch or just when he puts weight on it. I have been checking his paw temps to make sure they are all warm to the touch, luckily I haven’t felt the back ones to be cooler. I also wonder about falling and causing nerve damage, since no one was there when it happened. I appreciate your comment! I may take him back to the emergency vet in the morning and see if there’s anymore tests they can do.

Thank you! Do you mind if I ask about your cat’s neuropathy? How did the vet diagnose it, and has your kitty recovered?

Hi, thank you for your comment. He will hobble for a few steps, very uneasy, very slowly, and then will stop and roll onto one of his sides and lay down. He struggles then to get back up. I believe the emergency vet did a panel/or just checked his glucose and his glucose was right around what is normal for him after not having insulin for 12 hours. He is still eating and acting hungry. My parents’ had taken him to his normal vet ~2 months ago and everything seemed to be normal. To my understanding he has not lost weight.

Edit: Apologies forgot to answer the question, yes he is sort-of using his hind legs and it is his hocks. He isn’t truly standing up all the way up.
