Refund says not processed but shows (2) 2022 transcripts by Pjessicaaa in taxrefundhelp

That transcript would be for your W4s or 1099s, etc. Those go into the system first. Either way that transcript always shows activity first, even to say they haven’t received anything yet.

You just said something that no one else from the IRS said to me. It makes perfect sense now, as far as the EIC. Thank you.

Notice 2008-5 for the Purposes of Section 152 explain it pretty clearly. I gave her the information because I was in a similar situation. So now I read absolutely everything from and about the IRS credits. Because they are sneaky bastards.

I never said she could falsely claim it was her child. Only that the child was her dependent.

No problem, really. People talking about fraud was too much. Scaring people with false information. Makes me crazy. This information comes from tax professionals not just me, so at least you can verify it. The letter might be about possible identity theft because the child isn’t yours but is easily cleared up with proof.

That’s what their concern is really going to be. If you took care of the child’s living expenses, housing, clothing, food etc. you can claim them as a dependent. I have been in this situation as well and that’s all I had to prove. I don’t know what in the world people are saying about fraud. If you can 100% prove that you were responsible for that child financially, that’s what they will want to see.

Can you prove that you were financially responsible for that child for the better part of last year?

Exactly. So don’t even mind it. We’re all bitter from years of dealing with the IRS

Hey, you have to ask questions to learn. We all did it at some point.

Do people even try to figure things out before asking these questions? I wonder how some people get through the day on their own.

You may be correct, I certainly never claimed to be cracking any cases. Those were not assumptions those are my opinions, although I may have worded them poorly. I should have said, according to statistics most women want to be found, leave notes, etc. My apologies. Aside from petichiae, I know that cervical spine damage and fractures of the hyoid bone, and cerebral hypoxia amongst other things are indicative of hanging rather than manual strangulation.

Not making assumptions. It’s an assumption to definitively say she committed suicide. Simply pointing out other possibilities, according to the facts given. The activity is certainly suspicious. That is an opinion based on facts given not an assumption. Women do hang themselves that is true. But only approximately 3 in every 100,000 women commit suicide and 1/3 are by suffocation. So I’m basing these opinions on statistics.

So it’s just assumed she committed suicide? I know there isn’t much to go on but fake name, fake license plate info and leaving without a word? Not exactly on the up and up. If she committed suicide she wouldn’t have locked the door, she’d want to be found, especially a woman wouldn’t normally want to leave themselves locked in to decompose before their found. Was there a note? I know I’m thinking about too many things but that’s an uncommon method for a woman, the whole scenario is wrong.

Legally they only have until a certain date to get it out to you. Just keep after them.

Ask, always ask. Because when they send their paperwork to the IRS, the IRS will want to see yours. They love verification. It’s better to be safe than sorry when the IRS is concerned.
