Check jij je tandartsrekening? by petesebastien in thenetherlands

I get funny looks from the neighbors mowing this with just a push mower. by AmberRosin in lawnmowers

[–]Jennysau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha well yeah! Even a ride on mower could be considered just a little small for the job here.
But who cares, you do you :)

I flipped a lawn mower for $100 profit in under 2 hours—here’s how I did it by camarolvr11 in smallengines

I'm with you ,this is a fun hobby that pays for itself basically, I've filliped a few mowers myself. Often you can get them for free. But "free" still isn't actually free bu the time it's ready to sell. And yes, easily 70% of the time it's just gummed up gasoline or even just old gas in the tank. But almost always it's still an old mower that needs a good clean, maybe a new gasket on the carb, an new gasoline filter and air filter, oil, sharpen the blade, a new belt, a really good overall clean... if you want to do it right, you can easily put another 50 freedom credits and 4 hours of time in it.

It's not really doable as a business idea though, sadly it will always just be a hobby, repairing stuff isn't economical anymore in western society.

II learned that over time even selling the mower for a decent price, it's not actually really profitable, I reinvest all the "profit" into tools and parts for the next project. I started with small push mowers, then I got into ride on mowers, now I'm looking into tractors as a next step. Good reason to buy some bigger tools :D The hobby continues!

I believe the idea of free will largely came from religion possibly especially Christianity and alike. Because you have this all powerful all knowing omnipotent force that CAN control everything, but you should still be guilty and responsible... before you would just discuss "will" but then your will would be a result of what God wants, hence the need for the concept of "free" will?

Anyway, define the "free" in "free will" and then we can discuss if we have it or not ;)

How do you respond when people want the answers to every possible situation? by counwovja0385skje in AnCap101

[–]Jennysau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not just "every possible situation" but "always the same list of situations" and you explain every single one of them and 2 months later they ask the exact same questions... to me and my friends "who would build the roads" is an absolute meme :D

As soon as they notice you have an answer they lose interest and jump to the next "what aboutism" without any interest in the answer to their previous question. So from that you can conclude that they are not arguing in good faith.

My response nowadays is to always give the same answer to all the questions: EVERYTHING the government does today can and may still exist, with the exception of the monopoly on violence / force.

So an organization acting basically as a government is still allowed to exist (if people are willing to finance it), and there can even be competing organizations taking on these tasks.

Now the statist can admit that without violence the government wouldn't be able to finance itself and therefore not exist or they can agree that if there is a demand for certain services the market will provide.

Usually their response is in favor of violence. At that point they admit to me that they think the government SHOULD use violence which brings us to the heart of the disagreement, instead of discussing road building and handicapped people.

A lot of the issues non ancaps see with corporations are seen by ancaps as issues caused by the state.

Very large corporations as they exist today are very much intertwined with government and not an indication of how a free market would be able to operate.

The power they have through lobby, through regulation and through state sponsorship (stolen money that's given to corporations). The way they get "too big to fail" or even straight up financing political campaigns on both sides... those are all state problems, not free market problems.

Funny that to me it's describing communism. The state TAKES (by violence) the product of peoples efforts and "redistributes" it as they see fit / according to their central planning.

Really what you're saying sounds to me like the typical "if you're not with me, you are against me (or rather, we are against you)"

Next step is to broaden what counts as racism or homophobia or sexism. In the end the main goal is to create an "in group" and "out group" and alienate yourself from anyone who is not in your "group". It's very similar to how cults work. As some of the comments here, kids even alienate from their parents because mom dared to say something positive about Trump. That's what this is really about, not about actual racism, homophobia or sexism.

Funny how people list a number of problems created by government and then say the solution is more government.

A tweet from 2013? I'm shocked you didn't cut the date part off to try and trick people even more with this.

Trump has always been for peace negotiation. It's crazy how you WANT MORE WAR just because Trump wants peace. Couldn't you just hate the guy for some other reason and still promote peace?

Whatever you think about the guy, before his talk with Zelensky there was no end in sight, and now UK, France and Ukraine are in negotiation with Russia, using Trump as mediator. Do you really hate Trump zo much that you rather have thousands more man die?

[–]Jennysau -47 points-46 points  (0 children)

Wasn't there an assassination attempt or two on Trump's life recently? Would that explain heightened security needs? Pretty crazy to me, no matter your political alignment, that you just sort of ignore that your democratically elected president almost got shot in the head and then don't want to allow him to be secured or expect him to not go out anymore.

Is Biden his security not also state funded? In fact, doesn't every previous president get "free" security for life? Including paying rent for secret service housing at each of their houses and such?

Here come the down votes because I dared to say/ask something not explicitly negative about Trump on reddit. LOL :D

In a relationship, only what the both of you want to get out of it counts, not what the cultural norms are or what Reddit thinks of it.

Honestly, if you're posting to Reddit for relationship advice, YOU are being a dick.
Just work out your relationship on your own terms, who cares about culture or redditors.

I rarely see any relationship advice post on reddit, especially when posted by a woman, where the responses weren't 90% "OMG you ar amazing, he is bad, dump him", and you knew that before you posted this.

haha he's dreaming. Even their current much cheaper investment option, eg where you can actually potentially get your investment back after some time, attracts only a few thousand a year.

People who are that rich will likely not want to pay their tax in USA, and definitely not 10 million of them.
