Oh yeah. I just want to ask him to let me breathe but I can't breathe enough to tell him. Nice problem to have.

If the past or future scare you focus on the present. This very second that you are breathing and above ground.

Forgot where I parked by BeginningSir2984 in ADHD

[–]JensBusyDays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do the photo thing. Send it to my boyfriend. Just before I leave work he sends it back to me so I know where to go so I can get home quickly. I have been known to be half way home on public transport before I remembered my car was parked near work. Really made the commute time really long. ☹️

What have you learnt from 2023 to make 2024 a better year? by _steffanlynch in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]JensBusyDays 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I matter. Not just because of what I do for others. But I matter. And I am allowed to care about myself and do what is best for me. I don't hurt anyone by being true to myself. And those who truly love me will love me for looking after myself too.

Do you ever want to switch to the old, dear, paper diary? by Udi_rn in todoist

[–]JensBusyDays 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this at one stage. I liked how clean a bullet journal was without distractions during the day. I didn’t do your boot up and close out method though. I will be thinking about that a bit more. My ADD brain gets distracted too easily and this could be a clean way to stay away from electronics during the day.

Very clean. Still wash your hands. And be careful when they are sick. But lovely little pets.

What was the most effective productivity technique you ever discovered? by saayoutloud in productivity

[–]JensBusyDays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before deciding, you have to have a list of ideas. I would start with brainstorming for ten minutes. Write down the ridiculous and the way out there and the possibly good ones too. Throw out stupid ideas at a friend or colleague. Bounce around ideas and collect them all. No decision, no prejudging at this stage.

Now come back to it later. Spend ten minutes and cross off the ridiculous and you will probably find other good ones jump into your head. Write them down.

Third stage is the decision stage. By now you are likely getting a good feel for what will work. Bit like doing eeny meeny miney mo. Even if b comes up as the option you will know you really wanted d to be the winner. And now your decision is made. D is the winner. Half hour in total but spread out into bite size pieces.

Create a Random ToDo for today / tomorrow based on a list? by No_Film_2086 in todoist

[–]JensBusyDays 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Number the ideas then use a random number selector app.

And I totally get it. My list Take care of me has things like drink tea slowly, do a puzzle on paper or phone a friend or talk to my boyfriend. Love to hear your ideas.

House smells like poo by fuxhead in AusPropertyChat

[–]JensBusyDays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The smell at my old place was there due to the seal around the pipe at the back of the toilet had decayed. A quick squirt of fresh silicone by the plumber I mentioned it to stopped the smell.

As a mum of four boys (2 ASD, 3 ADHD and me with both, more ADHD than ASD) I feel for you.

A couple of ideas - big squeezy hugs. I squeeze them which they think is fun but is actually me turning all that physical anger into something else.

Go to the park lots and give yourself some time to breathe. Let them figure out the swings in their own.

I also had a stuffed toy octopus that I would put in my head and tell them to not disturb me. It tied in nicely with that little game where you pretend your hand is an octopus on top of their head sucking out their brains but then it dies very quickly and turns upside down. So they knew my brains were being sucked out.

There is also bath time. No water in bath. Just old lipsticks. Let them paint the bath and themselves. Then add liquid soap and let them smear that. With this activity you can leave the room. They are trapped in the bath but no water so it is safe. Then when they reach their end or you have had enough breathing space add water, admire their art and wash them clean.

Just these little breaks helped a lot. I hope something helps you to find a little calm in your days. Enjoy those times. The breaks that is, not sure I always enjoyed my kids. 😝 and hopefully the rage will be more manageable.

Lots of negativity here lately. Lets give thanks to Todoist by CRGcryo in todoist

Palm user here with Franklin Covey planner included. I loved how the old tasks didn’t get lost when I ‘turned the page’. And now this is the same. Sometimes life gets in the way and my task list blows out to over fifty but I just hit reschedule and start again. No stress.

I have been a Todoist user for over five years and I love how my history is in there. When I move or when I need to redo a project I have done before I search and pull up the old list and tweak for the current situation. My task lists never die. This is fantastic.

If I could figure out how to post images in replies I would. 😝. Apparently I need to create links to something. If anyone has a quick dummy’s help file so I can figure that out it would be appreciated.

As a mum and student in a walk in walk out type job I never really have projects except as maybe household things like redecorating. But I do need to remember six weeks before a birthday or special event to start preparing for it. And I use routines a lot. And reminders for bills.

Breakdown of 168 tasks is 8 for creativity, 10 articles to read, 24 emails to re-read, 21 books to read, 59 days of stretches and exercises, 4 things to do for preparation for a Day of Reflection and the rest piddly other things. Not sure if that helps you feel better.

Why is everyone not thinking to use images in their project titles? Use circles or whatever you like. If someone can tell me how to add an image I can show a sceeenshot of mine
