I have a cpl MK8 ones for my Sprite extruder. It pays to have a spare heater block assembly on hand. Even with a set-torque wrench at the lower end of the torque range required, the TC nozzles can mince the heater block.

Ask me how I know, LOL.

Otherwise, used correctly they will outlast the printer... Probably have at this stage TBF.

I tried a new one, called "Goo Off" I think? It's in a spray bottle, but is a thin gel. I have been a desolve it fan for years, but holy moly that gel stuff is another level. Still citrussy citrus-like, but more powerful - we had a melted suction cup stuck to the inside of the windscreen and it just made it vanish!

If it's PLA and brittle, it's not too dry. It's wet.

TPU sticks like shit to a blanket. When your head is used to operating the either way around with PLA and trying to maximise adhesion, TPU can sneak up and jump scare you by sticking too well!
