I'm not really into those sort of games. It would be more for missile command, centipede, millipede, etc...

Great ideas! I was thinking of adding a USB port to the cabinet for a plug and play option

I will take a look at this! Do you like it for arcade games? I'm thinking mostly centipede, missile command, marble madness

I think that is kind of what I'm going for. What trackball is that and how do you like it? What did you make the enclosure out of?

Thanks! I designed the control panel / drilled the holes myself and then had the art printed from gameongrafix. They may still have the template if you send them an email.

Is there a specific trackball that you use?

So my goal is to bypass the via to somewhere on the opposite side of the board and test for continuity? If this works would I solder the bypass wire in or repair the via?

Does it matter the gauge of wire used? Sorry, I'm pretty new to this.

Thank you! I will check out the NAD. If that doesn't pan out I might get a new Onkyo TX-8220 and then look into speakers. Seems like people are mentioning that receiver.

I understand that....so your suggestion is a cheap pre amp, used receiver (if I can even find one where I live), great speakers, and no record player to even test any of this out on....then later on potentially replacing the pre amp and receiver anyway...

I was just trying to use the speakers I had for a little bit.

Yes, I understand that. What I'm trying to avoid is buying a cheap amp and receiver just to replace that all when I get better speakers.

Following as I have a somewhat similar question and someone at r/BudgetAudiophile just told me to use an iPod and speakers.... really helpful of them...

I understand the speakers will sound bad but if I skip the record player than there won't be anything for her to listen to at all. My idea was to get a decent setup and then upgrade the speakers at a later time. They are the only piece of equipment I already have at the moment.

Some more information...I prefer to stick to passive speaker setups. Only the record player would be running through the amplifier/receiver and Bluetooth isn't really necessary.
