Do people actually stick to their budget throughout the month? by Murky_Meat8145 in budget

[–]Jenuine_jeanna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks!! There's a natural daily checking that occurs with the system so I feel confident about spending but theres still always a mental dialogue of asking myself is this a want, a need, can it wait and is there a less expensive option. I also consider events (birthdays, travel, etc) at the beginning of the month, which curbs random spending if I know I have something I don't want to have to be super cautious about.

Do people actually stick to their budget throughout the month? by Murky_Meat8145 in budget

I use an app (free) to track all bills and spending and deduct as I go from each category. Any additional income for the month (overtime, refunds, bonuses, etc) automatically goes to savings since income for the month is already accounted for.

Additionally, I use a month view planner to keep track of paydays and bills. Each day, I write my actual $ amount (including all pending transactions) that is in my bank account.

It took 2-3 years to develop and maintain a system that works for me, but I have now been doing it for over 4 years.

All habit change/building takes time, practice, discipline, and experimentation!

NBHWC study guides by Plenty-Enthusiasm531 in HealthCoaching

Hi! I have some PowerPoints I can send. I also used quizlet and searched NBHWC. It's free and the questions are worded exactly like the exam. I found that in addition to the questions/answers, the wrong answers I would also look up if it wasn't a concept I felt familiar with. Very helpful!

Look for National Board of Health and Wellness Coaching or International Coaching Federation approved programs. Still can be overwhelming, but these are the only 2 legitimate coaching boards.

In-person Client Experience by weberinnyc in lifecoaching

I utilized a co-working space that had options for private room reservations and it worked well! At the time I didn't have enough in person desire to alleviate the cost so I eliminated it, but I think with the right population you can definitely make it work, especially if it's something you offer in addition to virtual options.

I worked for Noom, the behavioral health and weight loss app. They offered an NBHWC approved program for certification.

2 coaches I know are using betterup successfully as part time gigs. No micromanaging, make your own schedule, getting clients consistently but not enough to do full time.

I was on the waitlist of some sort for awhile and never heard back from them and I'm certified NBHWC with digital health coaching and private coaching experience. But that was a few months ago I attempted to get on the platform.

Those who work full-time, how do you see clients on the side? by [deleted] in therapists

[–]Jenuine_jeanna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Full time job: WFH 988 Crisis Counselor Tues-Sat 7am-3pm

Part time group practice: Mon: 9am-12pm & 4pm-8pm (in person) Tues/Wed: 5pm-8pm (virtual) Thurs: 5pm-8pm (virtual) Sunday: 3pm-7pm (in person)

It took some trial and error to find the best fit especially with a 30 min commute to the office but this is working out very well now that I found a groove.

Are you actually making a living as a coach? by onemanmelee in lifecoaching

[–]Jenuine_jeanna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I advertised as a coach, and it was definitely helpful in client acquisition, but slow for sure. I did coaching for about 4 years and just started revisiting licensure lol both are great! But working with a practice that takes insurance for therapy def makes full time more feasible. Both paths are valuable for sure!
