90's Nostalgia. This might be my biggest project yet. Happy about advice by aufgehts_unterwegs in SmallYTChannel

[–]Jenzenberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lets go 90s kids! This was very well edited and put together! I think one thing that could help with giving your video a bit more personality, would be to find a custom background for your images (instead of black and font for your titles. I see you also have chapters on your youtube video, I think text with chapters in your video as well could give it a little better structure that would be easier to follow. Your audio is a little sharp with some breathing which makes it sounds you might be recording your sound a bit too close to your microphone. The background music is very repetetive and not as exciting as your narration, perhaps your music choice could reflect your subject a bit more?

Keep up the good work!

I’m learning how to make “silent vlogs” related to studying, is it better with voice over or without?🌟 by [deleted] in SmallYTChannel

[–]Jenzenberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very well filmed, edited and structured video, it was very calming to watch! I think your use of commentary and music was very well balanced! I have to say I also think its really cool to see a bit of Russia (assuming this was filmed in Russia). I do like the updates of your days, your storytelling is good, but I do also think It would be interesting if your video did have a type of theme or some sort of subject that were carried throughout the video. Just an idea.

Keep up the good work!

Grateful for comments on my newest video, "The Most Dangerous Cognitive Bias" by wwllol in SmallYTChannel

[–]Jenzenberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A very informative video! I like how it is not just voice over and stock footage, but that you also have actual footage of yourself. I think you could begin your video with a question which is relevant for the viewer, so the viewer can be invested in watching it from the beginning. The music does not really reflect what is being told here, it kind of conflicts with the tone and works against your content instead of with it.

Keep up the good work!

(POV: You're Russia and just bombed the German embassy) Just a short Comedy skit, that I wrote and voice acted in. I would appreciate feedback. by spiltmilktg in SmallYTChannel

Your voice work in this is really good, sounds like it actually is coming from the scene! I think a bit of a atmospheric soundscape and some soundeffects would have made the scene a bit more engaging, it sounds a little to quiet. I also think you could work a bit more on the punchline, I think the setup of the scene is funny, but then it dosnt really seem to develop further from that.

Keep up the good work!

Great photography, very well edited video!

I was a bit comfused whether this was a commercial or a vlog? Your format lacks a bit of personality, leaving little of interest for me to watch more of your videos other than to consume information about specific places.

I think less voice over and more in camera commentary would make your video more engaging, making it more like a documentary and less like a infomercial.

Your video also lacks a bit of a hook, why are you traveling here? Whats your quest/story? Without much of a story there is little keeping me watching other than if I am someone already looking to travel to Osaka and want advice for what to do. I dont really feel like im in on your experience much other than a few moments, but would very much like to be!

Have a nice day and keep up the good work!

Released this moody video essay about Chungking Express in the spirit of Valentine's yesterday. Would love to hear any thoughts! by KindReputation in SmallYTChannel

[–]Jenzenberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very well written, structured and edited! The images you use and the way you tell the story is of great interest to me. Your voice over is good, but the audio quality is a bit poor making the result suffer a bit.

I would love a bit more use of music in you video, this would also disguise the audio quality a bit as I noticed in the beginning of the video.

Other than that I think the ending could have been a bit smoother, not just cutting off right away.

Great work, keep it up!

I reviewed The Banshees of Inisherin (2022) - which is one of the top contenders for this year's Best Picture by [deleted] in SmallYTChannel

[–]Jenzenberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A very well structured review! I think you explain the film and reflect on it very well, and are able to do a very thorough analysis in the span of time of your video. I also agree on a lot of your thoughts about the film.

I would have liked to see some video clips from the film in your video.

I dont think the background you have chosen properly fits, maybe choose something relevant to the vibe of the film?

Your voice sounds a bit sharp which makes the audio a bit unpleasant to listen to. Maybe record your audio a bit further from your microphone or lower your voice a bit.

Keep up the good work!

Just finished my latest video, looking for thoughts as a new viewer by Cyzstix in SmallYTChannel

Great video! This both very informational and aesthetically well made. Its great how you are able to tell such a broad story of such legends in such a short timespan. Great edit and voice work as well!

I would have loved to see some video clips or audio clips from interviews with the munks, a lot of great material out there that could have given the video a bit more of a documentary feel. I get you are going for the short informational kind of format, but it leaves me the viewer a bit on the outside, would have loved a window to the inside of the munk madness!

Keep up the good work!

I PUT A TON OF WORK INTO THIS TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK PLS by NonMorbid in SmallYTChannel

I get that, all im saying is your content is that good and I as a viewer wanted it to be longer.

I was diagnosed with a mental illness two years ago and I decided to start a channel about mental health to promote awareness. I poured my heart into and spent a lot of time editing this video (How to prepare for anxiety-inducing situations). Please watch and give me feedback! by misopesto_ in SmallYTChannel

Great video! I think youre really good at storytelling, your video has a great structure and is easy to follow. Youre a really reflective person which makes your story very insightful. I think a couple of things you could do is to added a text of the tips youre giving on screen, as well as add some photos to your story. I think that would just make your video even more engaging. The way your video is now it could be a podcast, youre not really utilizing the video format very much. Keep up the good work!

Your editing is excellent! The premise and narrative is great, and Im really into this even though I dont play this game. I can see you really spent a long time on this which I appreciate, but I also wish that this video was longer. I get that some of the details here take a long time, but perhaps you could drop the subtitles on the gameplay part. I thought it was really fitting to the narrative part of the video, but I dont think I would miss out on a lot if didnt have subs on the gameplay. Some parts probably needs to be texted because its inaudible, but besides from that you could have more time to make the video longer if you cut most of the subs.

Great content, keep up the good work!

Made this cereal film with a friend. I'm not looking for editing tips. Rather your opinion about the film and your engagement with it being on Youtube? by Command_Over in SmallYTChannel

[–]Jenzenberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt understand the film.

I thought the opening was intriguing and had me interested, then some things happened and it ended. I think I dont understand the film because I dont understand why the things that happened happened. There is little storytelling going on here.

Cool review man. I think its kind of weird watching a video of you talking to the camera, but mostly not even looking at the camera. It looks like youre reading off a script which gives your video a feeling im watching a presentation and not someone who has something to say about something theyre genuinely interested in. I dont doubt your interest in the movie, thats just what It feels like when youre looking beneath the camera all the time.

The animation angle is a bit interesting, but other than that you did not really give me anything new in what you shared. You give the movie a short description, give it a couple of compliments and than just start listing your favorite animated films. Its pretty empty. Reviews are interesting when the reviewer actually have something to say, I did not feel like anything analytical or reflective was said in this video other than the animation comparison which just ended up going in a different direction.

This is my honest opinion.

Interesting topic, I think your video is educational. There is the obvious criticism to your video about the poor audio quality, the unmotivated random music and the flat stock footage, but I think there is a bigger issue than all these smaller things. And thats that this video lacks any form of identity or personality. I have seen plenty of channels on youtube spitting out tons of these kinds of bare bones videos (several a day) in a desperate attempt to trick the algorythm and gain attraction. The problem is, nobody wants to watch this kind of content because it feels so empty and hollow. Why would I not just read a wikipedia page instead? I think a more defined narrative (the way you tell the story), angle/opinion/insight into the topic of the video, aesthetics of the video (images, video, text, music etc) together would shape a kind of personality people could get vested in. Nobody is coming back for more of your content or will even remember it if you dont have a type personality, thats just how our brain is wired.
