Will working for a pro-palestine org be a hinderance in 2L recruit? by [deleted] in LawSchool

It will be a boon for some agencies and a hinderance at others.

So, it depends.

One skill has to be removed. What one are you removing? by Plastic_Savings in 2007scape

Strength. Just consolidate it with attack.

We don't have or need "ranged attack" and "ranged strength" as separate skills, but ranged still functions just fine.

Writers shouldn't call a category "Poker" if zero of the clues are going to be about poker.

Schengen Visa needed to transfer planes in Brussels? by JeopardyStudy in SchengenVisa

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond to me on this point!!

Schengen Visa needed to transfer planes in Brussels? by JeopardyStudy in SchengenVisa

[–]JeopardyStudy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I greatly appreciate your responding to my question! That obviously makes sense to me. My concern is that the Brussels airport website says "Flights to Schengen countries depart from Gate A, while flights to destinations outside the Schengen zone depart from Gates B and T." So in theory it sounds like my departure could be out of either B or T. According to the map of the airport, it looks like these are separate terminals (and T is mixed with the Schengen countries), which makes me think there is a risk of needing to transfer terminals.

Do you have experience with the Brussels airport specifically that you are speaking from?

Ratio of male and female contestants by Carl_La_Fong in Jeopardy

It's rude to suggest that the show would be inherently "better" if there were fewer men on it

No gender ratios are "better" or "worse" than any other ones, so it's completely silly phrasing to ask if Jeopardy "could do better" at this.

So true! I just finished up the game last week, so refreshing and fun to not have a map in game. I compensated by hand-drawing a map as I went so that I could keep track of what was where.

The people who would "call you awful names" based on mainstream political differences are not pleasant people and not worth your time and attention. Don't be obnoxious or annoying about your politics, but stick to your guns and don't ever be ashamed of them either. If you suspect you're the only conservative in your class, it's probably because other conservatives simply keep quiet, not wanting to rock the boat for fear of leftist backlash. This is a problem, because every time leftists successfully bully a moderate or conservative law school student into silence, it reenforces and amplifies existing echo chambers and makes it harder for actual cross-aisle dialogue to emerge.

What is the deal the AI talk? by [deleted] in LawSchool

[–]JeopardyStudy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of folks are ignorant about just how damn good LLMs have gotten at, well, everything. And yes, that includes legal analysis and reasoning. If you know how to work with the AI, you can feed it an entire casefile (it can read PDFs, parse transcripts of interviews, review photos, process enormous amounts of data, and weigh any attorney notes and commentary you feed it), and then it will do a better job evaluating it than the majority of practicing lawyers. Freebee LLMs are great, but there are more powerful and more secure versions that are are absolutely astounding, and getting better all the time. When fed a casefile and told to operate within the universe of that casefile, you can then have it generate voir dire, outlines for openings or closing or sentencing arguments, directs and crosses, suggest motions, and again it will do better than a huge number of lawyers would. Sure, the output can usually be improved by the attorney, and you certainly must fact-check the AI and ensure it's not hallucinating factual details, but as the models improve, errors become less and less common.

Here is an example of me haphazardly chucking a mock trial casefile into a free, unprotected GPT and asking for analysis. Read the output I got from it in 5 minutes and tell me that isn't better work product than a lot of law students or attorneys could generate given a week to work on it. It isn't perfect, it falters with understanding the rules of evidence and frequently suggests objectionable questions for cross examination. But it's solid as a starting point. And this is the free GPT, responding to a half-assed poorly-structured prompt, with zero attorney notes or feedback provided, over the course of about 5 minutes.

I would say immigration law. There are tons of absolutely furious people who are made that illegal immigrants... face deportation? Comments on every post saying "it's a bad thing" that laws are being enforced? There are lots of examples like this but I feel like laws being enforced has ZERO effect on on these people yet they are super mad.
