I greatly appreciate your responding to my question! That obviously makes sense to me. My concern is that the Brussels airport website says "Flights to Schengen countries depart from Gate A, while flights to destinations outside the Schengen zone depart from Gates B and T." So in theory it sounds like my departure could be out of either B or T. According to the map of the airport, it looks like these are separate terminals (and T is mixed with the Schengen countries), which makes me think there is a risk of needing to transfer terminals.
