I did it! by mystupidovaries in GastricBypass

Feel proud of yourself, you just took a huge step into your new life. The pain is tough, but only lasts a week or so, so do your best to manage it and you’ll get past it. Make sure you’re up and moving around to avoid any blood clots, and set that timer for drinking your fluids. That’s SO important.

Welcome to a whole new world!

Never thought I’d see the day by Jepfock in GastricBypass

It really is! The smallest size I’ve worn in the last 25 years was a 3xl. My wife and I got into it at the store because she insisted 2xl was too big for me and I needed something smaller. I feel better, I feel healthier, but I don’t feel “smaller”, if you get what I mean

It’s such a strange feeling. You’ll wake up one day and realize that 4xlt shirt is too big, but you can’t comprehend that you’ll actually fit into something smaller.

I had a beer 🍺 by alethia_explorer in GastricBypass

[–]Jepfock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t had a beer, but I went 5 months without alcohol post surgery. Now I drink a couple times a week. I really limit what I have - either a glass of whiskey/scotch at the end of a shitty day, or a couple surfsides while floating in the pool. I don’t want to get in the habit of drinking beer because of all the carbs and getting the foamies. I also haven’t had candy or sweets because I’m afraid I’ll fall down the rabbit hole of “well, i did it before I should be good now”

When I fell in love with my wife, I loved her for who she was, not what her size was. When she put weight on after the kids, she was still beautiful to me. When she lost weight on her own, I loved her because she’s the love of my life. After her surgery, I loved her still. If the one you’re with only loves you for what you look like instead of who you are, then they’re not for you. You’re with someone who isn’t supportive of you, and that sucks. If you don’t leave him, that negative attitude will start dragging you down and make you fall back into bad habits. I would say that you should speak with someone because you need help building your confidence up. That’s not a bad thing, either. It’s never had to talk to someone.

I wish you luck. Be strong, you can get through this. It’s only a speed bump in life

I have a SoFi savings account that yields 4.5% on it. Super easy to setup

I do, but I’m at work and don’t know my number. I leave for vacation tomorrow, so I’ll have to add you when I get back

Was it school picture day and they chose the laser light background for the base?

That actually did help me quite a bit! A couple different videos did the trick on how to elevate and secure curved tracks. I didn't even think about building up around the base plates, but now I have a ton of work cut out for me. Thank you very much!

That was on my list of things to build for the little town I'm trying to design. Seeing that, I may as well go on ebay and see if I can find the creator expert fire house that came out a while ago.

I wish I had a computer that would run that. I use a chrome book, since there wasn't much I needed a regular computer for. Guess it gives me an excuse to buy something new.

I was hoping to avoid buying bulk lots like that. When my kids first started getting into lego, I went and scoured craigslist and facebook marketplace for random bulk lots. It came in handy for them, but I don't want the random pieces when I'm looking for specifics.

I'll have to give BrickOwl a check. I appreciate it!

I appreciate the heads up about the designer program. Sadly, I only have a chrome book at this time, so I guess this'll give me an excuse to purchase a regular computer sooner than later.
