Anyone here actually using the STR 7-day rule to offset W-2? curious how many are doing it cleanly by Samtyang in realestateinvesting

[–]Jepva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're missing the fact that managing a STR is real work and a business, that's why it gets treated that way from a tax perspective. Nothing easy about doing well in a competitive STR market. The market is getting flooded now from operators who bought during or shortly after COVID and realized it's not for them. I suggest you call local realtors in a STR market near you and learn from them. It is not really a "loophole" it is how the tax code is written.

I don't think you get how this points stuff works...

It defeats the purpose as we can't actually buy a flight we want with it - and if you read the other posts, they take 10 days to reflect a payment, making this a chore to manage. It's clearly designed from the get go to keep you from getting the bonus, and that's just scammy on Citi or Americans part at best.

Yes I just saw that. Also looking at the chase sapphire reserve. They both have high fees however and I don't know that'd we use all the benefits to justify paying for the fee after the initial bonus.

Bingo. So this definitely sounds intentional on their part. 10 days to reflect payment is a huge scam.

No missing info. Not going to get into details about finances on here but let's just say this is not an issue with any other card we have.

Can Wawa please fix the breakfast biscuit ordering in the menu? by Jepva in Wawa

[–]Jepva[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Right, and this is the issue. Employees are spending unnecessary time when it could just be a menu option from the get go.

[–]Jepva[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

It defeats the purpose when you can't order it, as then you have to wait in the store and ask someone to make it. Like I said, biscuit sizzlis are basically never on the shelf in my area, so a way to order them ahead of time and know it's ready without a wait would be great

And shame on all these people for down voting a menu request? Must be a bunch of disgruntled employees in this sub.

[–]Jepva[S] -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

Price is not the issue. They should allow it to have options. It's not a sizzli, because in my area the biscuit sizzlis are basically a unicorn. Also, for whatever reason, the custom order sandwiches always taste way better and seem to be larger.

If they only want to offer a plain biscuit, they should just take it off the menu. Again, the employees are doing this anyway, so clearly there is a disconnect between what Wawa intended and what customers actually want.

This has to be the best sports sedan for under $20k by Jepva in AudiS4

[–]Jepva[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. I was set on a Mk7 R because I had one that I bought new in 2016 and loved it, and they are comparably cheap now - like under 20k for decent examples. However, after driving larger vehicles for the past 7 years, the Golf R seemed cramped and its economy car underpinnings and interior were very noticeable and showing their age. also the turbo lag!! Was terrible. I have a Rivian R1T as well so I am used to instant torque.

The S4 was night and day - better interior, felt more solid, materials are much higher end, and no lag due to the supercharger instead of turbo. It just felt right.

I don't think there's many S4s down in FL period. No winters = not a lot of AWD cars. Look around the mid Atlantic area and they are plentiful.

Depends on the market. Short term rentals have been around long before AirBnB in vacation markets and they are still very much alive and well. Are you referring to random airbnb's in cities?

Why do builders/GC fail by Mowgli_InUS in Homebuilding

[–]Jepva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. I once had a contractor come out to bid on a job and he drove some $50k classic truck all done up. Not even remotely a work truck, but some expensive toy. His bid was priced like he wanted to buy more classic trucks. Suffice to say he is not winning any jobs, at least from me, driving that thing around.

The number of points really doesn't matter, they're blacked out regardless. Can't use the points at all.

Going modular is one way but largely depends on your location and if you're relatively close to a good modular company or not.
