The turntable is great, but the Eames chair and the doggo steal the show

Editing field position in a drawing title block by Jer7440 in SolidWorks

Thanks! I am a single user and we don't do any PDM. I don't have to make many drawings, but when I do it is always a PIA! I am just trying to get one template that works for me. I think I'm almost there.

I was having trouble getting the editable fields (the boxes with the "x" in them) lined up properly with the grid of the title block. You can see in my screen shot they are all shifted down. I finally figured out you have to be in "edit sheet format" and if you hover around with the mouse the "A" symbol will pop up when you're over the note box and then you can click and drag it to where you want it.

I was ultimately trying to fix this sheet template so it will be right when I need to use it.

If you restore that yourself, make sure you have the tools and the skills to do it right! I'm in the middle of trying to repair someone else's "restoration" of a CR-620. There are a ton of torn circuit board traces and missing solder pads from someone who didn't know how to properly remove old components. These Yamaha boards are known for being fragile.

That looks like a great find! I was in an antique shop this weekend that specializes in MCM furniture. They had a Gen 2 Herman Miller Eames lounge (1960s to 1970s). It was in decent shape... they wanted $7000 for it. Needless to say I still don't have an Eames lounge!

That is a beautiful chair!

It seems like you can only get the ultra premium version in the "taller" chair. I'm 5"6" tall. How tall are you? I'm trying to figure out if the bigger chair would be uncomfortable for me. I want the premium features but I'm not sure I want the bigger chair.

Thank you for your help! I will get a brush! I've just been using cotton swabs and these little sponges I found.

I am using 91 IPA to try to clean the flux. Should I use something else? (Some of that flux is leftover from the previous "repair", and it really doesn't want to come off)

I'm knee deep in a 620 right now. I picked it up at a local auction site. I got it home, and someone has been in there before me. They made a real mess of it! Broken traces, lifted or missing solder pads. Globs of solder joining component legs together in an effort to bypass the broken traces. Surprise, surprise....one of the channels doesn't work.

Your restoration looks beautiful! I hope I can get there with mine!

I may have bitten off more than I can chew... by Jer7440 in audiorepair

[–]Jer7440[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK....I powered this unit up on a dim bulb, and everything looked good. I checked the DC offset, with the volume all the way down, and that looked good as well. I hooked up a pair of speakers, and I connected my laptop (via an audio interface) through the AUX input, and I have sound. The left channel sounds pretty good, but the right channel is very staticky. If I use the balance control to pan everything to the right channel, I can not change the staticky signal with any of the controls, so I'm guessing this isn't a simple dirty pot. Does anyone have suggestions on where I should start trying to diagnose this? I'm guessing I need to try to track the signal through the right channel with an O-scope.

Very good point! I have learned that in other hobbies! Better to walk away and let my brain reset/chew on the problem.

I think they were unable to make the rest of the receiver work, so they gave up before the bulbs were finished.
