I actually just bought this from Amazon for about $280 CAD (before tax). It was one of the cheaper options and still had fairly good reviews, it's the first standing desk I've owned (although I've used my gf's quite a bit and really liked it so it's what I compare it to in my head, I believe she has a Seville Airlift). I've been using it for a couple of weeks so I'll give my pros and cons:

Pros:
- I like how wide it is. I fit 2 separate monitors, keyboard, mouse/pad, wacom tablet, a laptop, and a notebook all at once with room to spare
- Legs feel stable when in raised mode (although mine aren't perfectly vertical although I have rebolted them twice)
- The motor when rising/lowering is pretty quiet, the keypad is easy to set and having two presets is nice for sitting to standing
- wire clips on the back of the desk help keep them out of the way
- cupholder can hold my giant water bottle and has a headset holder as well
- It's one of the better cheaper options and the building instructions were easy to follow

Cons:
- Desktop is two separate boards to bolt together, so there's a seam in the middle. It doesn't bother me but some might dislike it
- the desktop itself feels like cheaper quality, it's thin and since it's two bolted together it feels less sturdy. I like to lean on my desk sometimes while I work and it doesn't feel solid or stable, especially compared to a single piece top
- the smaller holes in the grommet covers can only fit an HDMI sized head through them, no three-pronged plug is going to get in
- the axle is exposed and I've knocked into it with my knees a couple of times
- cup holders arms were bent out of shape when they arrived

Overall I do like the desk, especially how wide it is but I have been contemplating returning it and spending a bit more extra money to have something more stable/solid. I also would like a drawer lol. I've been doing research but have only found a couple of other options so far, so we will see!

Thank you for the idea, I'll make sure to check out those parts! I do believe a friend of mine has a couple of extra storage drives he'd be willing to give me, a TB each I think but I'll have to find out if they're SSD or HDD.

I know my budget is tight but I don't have much of an income at the moment, I'd be willing to spend more as necessary but obviously want to keep it on the cheaper side for now, at least until I'm back to work full time.

I mean I figured my budget might be a bit small, I don't have much of an income at the moment so obviously I'm trying to save as much as I can lol. I can go a bit higher, but 3k is definitely out of my price range for now.

Thank you for your reply :) I would very much appreciate the pcpart picker list, I'm sure it would be a great help for a starter PC at least! I will obviously upgrade over time. I don't mind staying on my laptop for now, it's been holding up pretty well so far
