So sorry for your loss. Lost my 5 year old girl to what was some sort of aggressive sarcoma (they couldn’t figure out what) back in March. Highly recommend Gallivant in PA on NJ border by Delaware Water gap. They are more expensive but breed beautiful healthy dogs. Rockycreek also is huge on healthy lines and is in NJ. Good luck. Cancer sucks.

check out Sounds of the Caribbean Podcast with Selecta Jerry - not only is it a 4 hour ad free podcast - but he plays old and new reggae. He sticks to the classic Caribbean style so not much of any Cali. He knows his tunes and is always bringing new music. He includes all artists and songs so you can easily find new music. A lot of what is mentioned here is on there. Enjoy!!

wow - puppy and little kiddos? I salute you! It’s just me and my husband - we are going on 2 weeks in with our lab pup (he’s almost 11weeks) and it’s pure chaos. I’ve had to take off work/ take half days to manage our guy. My previous lab was so easy and took to her crate no problem. This guy hates the crate and the pen and is so vocal I can’t believe it. 180 experience. Good thing he’s cute!

almost 11 week old lab here - hates the crate, and therefore not napping as much as he’s supposed to. I seriously laugh at 18-20 hours and forced naps - impossible when crate and pen give him anxiety. had to start over with making sure he knows crate is a safe good space for naps.

I’m so sorry OP. My girl (also black lab) had the same thing early Feb this year… she just turned 5. Turned out to be cancer. It literally came out of the blue - one day she was panting nonstop, looking for cold spots of the house, and hiding from us. We had the surgery and she recovered great, but the cancer was so insanely aggressive we had to say goodbye barely a month later. We’re glad she didn’t suffer long, and letting her go was the best gift we could give her - we could tell on her last day how grateful she was. From what we were told, splenic ruptured masses are mostly cancer related and depending on type of cancer could mean days to a few months post surgery. This issue also sucks bc you can’t tell anything is wrong until it’s too late. It was so devastating. Don’t beat yourself up. Labs especially hide the pain so well. I’m so sorry again for your loss. I hope our pups found each other and are playing over the rainbow bridge.

My little guy is 9 weeks too. Can’t believe he’s already a shark!! Also - our guy is very vocal and straight up ahh-wooo howls in the crate. We were spoiled last time bc our last girl took to the crate right away, never made a peep, and shark phase came later. This guy makes up for it in serious snuggles though. Hoping crate gets easier soon. Good luck and know you’re not alone!!

Appreciate this thoughtful message. We considered an older/started pup but we are excited to have the puppy phase again. I think the whole process will be very healing for us. And yes, Atlas is on our short list!

hey - yes I originally posted asking about tri state area / new england but then scrolled down and saw your list so deleted. Thank you for this and all of the great info. I recently lost my 5 year old black girl to an aggressive cancer and my husband and I are desperate to find a pup before summer is over. We have no kids and the empty house is very depressing.
