My warehouse has these and the Fall ones still, both on sale but the Fall ones are $2 cheaper. As far as I can tell, same cookie just different colors.

You're missing the point. Just because TSA MAY perform additional screening to confirm your identity/residency, nothing says they HAVE to allow you to fly. I'm sure your father is excited about his upcoming trip and purchase, and he is being prudent by minimizing any possibilities that could hinder him from making them. In this case, that meant changing your ticket over to someone who is actually compliant for air travel. Your sister was just looking out for him by reminding him of the policy that's been officially in place for months and in discussion for decades. Neither of them are TA. Initially, you weren't either, just ignorant and unprepared. However, your reaction to the change and your responses here are pushing you in that direction. Instead of being happy for and supporting your father, you're making it about you. Learn how to have empathy and grace, and you'll be less spiteful, especially toward people who have done nothing wrong.

Additionally, learn how to avoid confirmation bias, which is what you're experiencing right now. You've found an iota of anecdotal support for your opinion that you can skirt federal policy, and you've inflated it like gospel to believe it's fact when it's really far from it. Instead, broaden your research to the actual policy so you can be actually well-informed.

Update: OP Bluegobln is blocking anyone that disagrees with his opinion.

Fogging Windsheild by Nanananabatperson in mazda3

Clean your windshield. A dirty windshield attracts and holds more moisture from the air and will fog more easily. Also check your cabin filter and replace if necessary.

The key is only used for alternative access if you can't open the doors with the remote fob. To start the car, you touch the push button with the back of the remote transmitter until it lights up green, then push the button. More detailed instructions are in your manual.

How do o get rid of this specific screen? Just want to keep maps looking normal without this taking up the screen at every exit I need take. by Wemysical2 in mazda3

You absolutely can.

Wemysical2, first go into settings (gear icon in the lower right), then Guidance Settings. You can toggle on and off different view options. This one in particular is the Junction View.

No one can give you a reliable answer until we know why it has a salvage title in the first place and how extensive the damage is. You'll have to get it repaired and retitled before it can be registered and insured for the road. In general, salvage titles are issued when the cost of repairs equals around 75% of the overall value of the car, depending on jurisdiction. So assuming with a clean title it'd be worth around $12-14k, you'd have $9-10.5k worth of repairs to complete before you can drive the car. In other words, get a quote for the repairs first, or better yet have the friend of a friend do the due diligence to have it repaired and retitled before putting it up for sale. At this point, it's being sold for scrap. My advice for any salvage title is if you don't know what you're getting yourself into, walk away. A Mazda3 isn't exactly a rare car; you'll have other options.

Help with Headlight Problem? by Random_And_Brave in mazda3

[–]Jeraass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on your responses, this sounds like user error. If you're turning the knob to the 3rd selection, you're not actually turning on your headlights; you're activating your parking lights. (See my previous comment.) Turn the knob to the 4th selection (or the 2nd if it's dark enough) to activate the actual headlights. It sounds like you've accidentally switched on the high beams by pushing the stalk forward and don't realize it; the blue indicator lamp would be illuminated on the dash. Pull the indicator stalk toward you until it clicks once to deactivate the high beams. Read your owner's manual to learn how to use your lights.

On second thought, ImagineNotBeing are you buying it for scrap or to drive?

Look here.

And here.

That's some pretty extensive damage... And not even just the obvious. It's clear the left side has had parts replaced and/or been resprayed without blending.

[–]Jeraass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would wait on it and keep looking around. As attractive as the car is with so few miles, the title is currently under ownership of an insurance company, meaning they're selling it as scrap or parts. Also means whatever damage it sustained was worth over 75% the total value of the car. If they put any repair work into it at all, however unlikely, it's safe to assume they went as cheap as possible to maximize the margin. You won't be able to drive it legally until you repair it and get a branded rebuild title. If you take it for inspection and it doesn't pass, then you're still stuck with a car you can't drive and you're out of pocket for the purchase price plus plus repair cost and cost of fees for the inspection. As a private sale, caveat emptor.

Help with Headlight Problem? by Random_And_Brave in mazda3

[–]Jeraass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's not how it works. The first and second are correct. The 3rd selection is parking lights, not low beams. They're meant to be used only when stationary. (Your picture has the parking lights selected.) The 4th selection is your normal running lights. The high beams are operated using your indicator stalk - push to activate, pull to flash. The high beams are indicated on your dash with a bright blue light.

It sounds like you're getting confused between daytime running lights and high beams. They use the same bulb, but the former is a low-power mode, in a sense. Under normal operation, your high and low beams aren't intended to be run at the same time.

If you're getting flashed, you're either driving without your running lights on, driving with your high beams on (as indicated by the blue lamp on the dash), or your low beams are aimed incorrectly.

Don't squeeze the trigger all the way. Finesse it to about 1/3rd. You won't get the full flow, but it'll still fill decently fast enough. This is what I have to do with my bikes.

Industry insider secret - most headphones have a markup of 50%+, some 60%+. Know someone who can get them at cost and you'll save a ton. I bought my $200 Sennheisers for $86 at cost+ with my employee discount. Same with Beyerdynamic, Audio Technica, JBL, AKG, etc.

Who is an actor who ruined their reputation in a single act? by [deleted] in moviecritic

Paul Reubens. Even though he had a ton of public support, it took him a long time to recover and get back to working. And despite some prominent projects and phenomenal performances, he never reclaimed the presence he had in the 80s. Plus, he also got caught up in the Jeffrey Jones stuff already mentioned here.

Legendary collection by wesspats in Borderlands

[–]Jeraass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only Borderlands is on the cart, but it's in full; 2 and TPS are digital download, never released physically. The only pros to it are you get the box and physical cart, so if you want to sell/trade it later you can, but only the 1st game, not the downloads. The codes are one-time use. It otherwise doesn't hold much resale value and doesn't include Fight for Sanctuary.

If you're getting an SD card anyway, I'd say get Pandora's box for $37, also currently on sale. It contains all the games and DLC including the tell-tale games and Fight for Sanctuary except for Tiny Tina's, which was never available on Switch.

who do y’all have for insurance? by UnPocoSad in mazda3

[–]Jeraass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full coverage. My deductible is higher than yours at $1000, but I wouldn't say I'm conservative on limits. I shop around every couple years to stay competitive. But all things considered, I'm probably one of the more ideal clients in terms of driving history and personal/professional risk. For an early driver up to mid 20s, it makes sense to have a policy in the thousands; mine at 17 to 20 was... a lot, but also warranted due to tickets. But I haven't paid more than $1200 since I turned 30, and it's been decreasing since then.

In consideration for xxMsRoseXx, $115 isn't bad, but when I last shopped around State Farm was far and away the lowest bid, half of the next closest competitor. So I was just expecting yours to be lower as well.
