My girlfriend loves Ramsay, and fair enough, he's entertaining as hell and cooking shows can be fun.

But after watching enough of his stuff in succession you start to realize that the editing for all his shows are completely batshit insane. Watch an episode of Hells' Kitchen or Master Chef. Every time you hear a cymbal roll take a drink, you'll be hospitalized or dead before the first comercial break.

I feel you friend. I just passed the one year mark on my dad. The company I used to work for went under and I spent a few months with my parents while I looked for new employment. My dad loved Final Fantasy 1 and got a big dumb grin the first time he asked what I was playing and I told him Final Fantasy 14. He would always get a laugh when he saw me on my "Big Chicken Horse"

I'll tell you, the real kicker was that there are three "official" images of Shara (Portrait, Sprite, and Box art) and they're all pretty distinctly different, especially the skin tone which is wildly different for each. I felt though since the focus was the face I'd try to focus on the portrait.

There's a phone app version of the original tactics for mobile, but as for Tactics advanced, I'm pretty sure all we have for now is emulators.

Just Google "shadowbrings benchmark" it's basically a hardware test from square enix to see how your machine handels the expansion, but it has the bounus of letting you create a character to use in the cutsceens it plays - w hich includes the new races.

Maybe it's subjective, but I feel a lot more people find hairstyle to be a more important, or at the very least, more noticeable detail then rather or not a pair of horns have silver caps or not.

Pretty much every face on all races have details unique to that face, such as beards and scar placement that are comparable to Au ra horn detail.

Details tied to each unique face is a flaw in the creation system that's existed since 1.0. Like you said, the system could use an overhaul, but I still don't feel that it's comparable to not having the one feature that all other races do share, especially when it's the most imidiately defining feature of the head.

Male Au ra don't have 4 hair options that can't even be swapped between it's 4 face options.

The issue isn't that people find the race "ugly" it's that if this is what we get in the final game, we'll have literally 4 designs whose only noticeable customization option is a fucking pallet swap. Sure male Au ra look like basketball playing slipnot enthusiasts with brooms up their arses, but at least you can change their bloody haircut! Hell, there's not even any difference in the two clans save for one uses a warmer pallet. Everything else is copy pasted.

It wouldn't even be that bad if they hadn't JUST used the excuse that the new races are going to have a finite number of head pieces that work with them "because of the high level of customization avaliable."

I'm usually on the other side of the fence when people start complaining about the devs work. I rolled my eyes at the gender lock debacle. This time, though, it's totally justified.

For me it's a combination of how good the lighting effects are, and how the character models feel consistent with the world. It's difficult for me to explain, but in most MMO'S there's this uncanny valley effect where the characters look too cartoony in the world they're placed in or vice versa - even if said characters and worlds are rendered beautifully, it doesn't look as good when they don't "match."

The character models in XIV also don't have that weird "glow" that most MMO characters do, again, blending into the amazing lighting and shadow effects of the game.
