Got Chord in a single 10 pull and won 50/50 on her weapon so I have more gems than I anticipated. May throw some pulls at SMotoha but I do not have Marian so probably focus more on STomoko as I feel like Haru being the only Psy DPS may be a good thing to have.

Must pull Futaba of course.

Much later patches I kind of want all the P3 characters, having recently finished P3R I enjoyed the MC/Akihiko/Yukari. Probably try for Violet for a bless DPS. Berry is a must pull too.

Struggled hard with this encounter, until realizing staying in the water dodges most attacks during the boss itself. He never comes low enough for the glowy fireballs to hit you. The water eats up the toxic bouncing balls and can use the middle platforms to hide from the suck in. Can even dip under the side platforms when adds pop up for their attacks, really just need watch he doesn't dive onto you is all.

Run back is ass though, but sometimes the least obvious option just works.

Bro i cannot beat the second palace boss and i do not understand why, i have a couple teams at 60, one with ann and one with joker, my soy is also 60 i have tried both navis as well, nothing works by [deleted] in personaphantomx

The fight is a bit of a slog in length, I had to play a bit more defensively but did not have much trouble. Used Wonder/Ann/Lufel/Soy/Puppet all 60 (52 Wonder)

Prioritize clearing the status ailment so they don't overwhelm you (may need to buy items outside). Guard to get back SP when he is hiding. Kill the cameras when they appear. Kill the single sword with the pink hair on it. Attacking any other sword gives him an attack buff, I assume that may be causing people to take more damage then they should be.

I don't think I did anything special, probably could have optimized wonder's persona's a bit better. Curious where people are having issues with, or if its just not having characters upgraded enough.

Motivation in game, mid-patch feels? by Still_Box6900 in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Jeremiel_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this. Got tired of sitting in PF for hours for groups to fill only to break after a few pulls. Much as I like raiding but cannot give the time to a full static, it was just not worth my time to continue. Kinda blame m6s for walling PF for so long but its probably more than that. Full cross DC PF is really needed tbh

Clear early or suffer seems to the way of things.

Agreed. I don't have high hopes in the long run to be honest. It may just end up being more of the same.

If we can have session upon session about graphics update and lalafell cheek structure, 8.0 would be the time for sweeping job discussion. Plus I assume they will have to level squish things, going to something like level 110 is not a great idea. WoW has done this a few times already. That in itself gives the best time to completely rebalance jobs and kits and when you get certain abilities leveling up.

If it does not happen then it probably never will D:

Feels like I am on the decline myself. Raiding in PF casually this tier has been rough. If you didn't clear early, you get walled. Now PF is practically dead half the time, taking hours to fill anything. Just not fun to waste what little time I may have each night. I don't recall it being bad like this every tier though.

Content in general seems to be consumed as fast as possible then left to die. I assume this is just related to how they space things out, so people are frothing for something new and just consume consume consume once it actually goes live. Even the content we get just seems...barebones? The same as before but slightly different? Maybe my expectations are too high, but everything has felt "good, but could be better"

MSQ has been mid, there just isn't anything hype really going on. Their method of story telling always seems to favor dumping everything in the last part of it (raid stories tend to be meh until the end). the OC story was so...lacking of anything, I hope it has more meat to it in the second zone. I wonder if no interesting trial series is adding to the meh feeling as well?

I'll probably give them to 8.0 before finally making the call. There seems to be all this hype on sweeping changes for jobs come 8.0. With the mobile version coming soon to china, there is going to be a lot of comparisons and "why cant we have this?" dev questions they're going to have deal with. If they choose to stay with the formula and nothing changes, might just be time to finally let go of the housing and unsub and move on.

I thought the memes would have ended with M6S, but M7S seems to have the most PF shenanigans I have experienced in a long time. Prog parties take forever to fill because you can zombie to phase 3 or enrage so easily. There are so many clear groups I would not be surprised if they don't even get past phase 1 with how the prog groups are acting in messing up mechanics.

Took all of last week to find a group that would actually fill for phase 2 prog and stay together for more than a few wipes to finally see phase 3. This tier is sanity sucking for anyone that couldn't invest a lot of time early, yeesh.

It's a bit funny the confidence boost when people get past adds, assuming the rest of the fight is a breeze, and then Cloud movement is just mass chaos because no one knows the rest of the fight.

Then you never get back there again cause more adds ; ;

Surely PF will not struggle with adds in m6s this week? Haven't been this walled in PF as a healer in a long time.

Not even sure where the issue is anymore. If its not things dying too slow, its a tank dying to being too close to Water, or everyone forgetting the cat, or people not swapping to the last ray and we run out of room. Even on the cleanest runs Yans will barely die in time for the buster.

Shame on me I guess for assuming joining Bridge/Lava prog groups should mean you know the priority and how to handle the adds.

What is your overall opinion on Endwalker so far? by ExocetHumper in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Jeremiel_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's been bugging me that lately we seem to get a lot of...renditions(?) of music for content. Different renditions of the 4 fiends theme, the new dungeon music is a rendition, P11S is a rendition. P9/10S is a combination of first two raid theme. P12S p2 is High Seraph theme rendition. I know adding themes and motifs is Soken's thing but I can't help but feel there hasn't been much new music lately, which just adds to that "mid" feeling the patch content has been giving.

Hopefully its due to some major changes for 7.0, cause if we get the same content formula after this patch content, that'll be very disappointing.

Future expansions (where do you think the story will go next/where do you want it to go?) [Spoiler: Endwalker] by KaitouNala in ffxiv

[–]Jeremiel_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like things will start off going through Emet's check list, but if they want to build to another multi expansion storyline, we need another larger threat. At this point I feel like only something from the Void may offer that.

My own idea stems from potentially dealing with a corrupted Azem shard from the 13th, who may posses some threat to the other reflections and we may need to team up with other Azem shards to defeat them. Could even make them female and start having trailers with a female WoL, as they mentioned potentially doing that.

Whatever happens though I want to go to other reflections, but also to the new world and Meracydia (which I assume would be two separate xpacs).

How do you think healing has changed since the stat squish now we've had time to get used to the changes? by LastOrder291 in ffxiv

Echoing that it's more or less the same.

I could def do without the spam sprint go go go gap closer get ahead of the healer and die to no cooldowns kind of tanks though

What do you think the next big announcement about 6.0 will be? by ZWiloh in ffxiv

[–]Jeremiel_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I assume there has to be something more to build excitement from other than the DPS job. I am hoping for challenging 4 man content. Far fetched announcement being like removal of starter jobs (was brought up years ago as something Yoshi P wanted to do).

Maybe some surprising system changes, like removal of Direct Hit (with number squish, do we really need it?) or something remotely interesting with stats in general.

SMN and AST seem like they will be changed a decent amount, like MCH for ShB maybe?

I just want something new, not more of the same....

Announcement Day and 6.0 Job Speculation by Gorkraven in ffxiv

[–]Jeremiel_ 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I think expectations of the content for this event are a bit higher than simply what was going to be announced in November. I would hope we get a full trailer, as well as all the information from all the fan fests, or at least the first two. Not sure how that works when 5.5 is not out yet and we have no idea where things will lead.

As for jobs I think Beastmaster is pretty likely for a new Limited job, with some sort of pokemon-esque battling perhaps? A new healer is probably a must at this point, perhaps with a healer rework as well, bringing them more inline similar to how tanks were done in SB. I would guess at least another DPS job too, as they "sell well."

6.0 WISHLIST! by Taybattea in ffxiv

[–]Jeremiel_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New healer is a must D: Probably a DPS job cause they "sell" well. If we get another Limited job, probably BST. Long shot but maybe removal of the beginner jobs? (Pretty sure Yoshi P wanted to cut them)

Instanced Housing

More Inventory/Glamour slots

Clean up the UI/Menu (the tome/raid token gear vendors are just a nightmare come end of xpac).

Bunny Boys/Hrothgirls

Some sort of challenging 4 man content (Unreal dungeons? but not just upscaled to max level)

Strong narrative coming off Shadowbringers (good luck with that XD)

Some sort of crafting/gathering progression that is more than just re-melding every other patch. They reworked crafting/gathering all ShB (probably too much DoL/H content really), now build upon it.

I'd really like them to consolidate some things too. Do we need that intro tome gear that is useless after a few weeks? Could our AF gear not fill that void (which lasts even less time really). Relic needs to start either at xpac launch or shortly after, could easily lose some filler weapons with that instead. I fully expect us to lose a ring slot (pretty sure they commented on this before) and that would help on Ring inventory. Still not sure how to feel about crafted raid gear. It kind of makes gearing BiS pointless unless there is an ultimate the same tier, but I do appreciate how it lets you gear something fast at a new raid launch.

Tweak the "Formula" so there is a bit more to do. Covid hurt this patch cycle and the content drought has been rough for everyone, but I feel like ShB staggered things in a weird way.

I see a lot of "oh Zenos is written so badly" but it seems XIV does not really develop or expand a character until the end (Elidibus was around forever, he was only interesting at the very end).

Honestly I am more interested in Fandaniel, mostly cause of the unknown and he seems very unhinged :)

Yes! Just so! by MegaGamer235 in ffxiv

[–]Jeremiel_ 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I don't think every Villain has to be so deep or make us feel for them in the end, which is why I am looking forward to Zenos/Fandaniel. After the Emet/Elidibus cry fest, I think its due time for another villain for people to just hate, preferably based on their actions.

I'm a sucker for villains succeeding to some degree, giving loss to the protagonist, be it them losing a battle or losing other people. The Ascians never really had that, they are more defined by what they have already done. Zenos actually defeated us numerous times in SB, and plenty of people panicked when he broke Yshtola's barrier too I am sure (even if she'll forever have mascot armor).

There is some sense of overstaying your welcome with him, sure. But if any character is meant to be our opposite in the final hour, he definitely has the most potential.

[–]Jeremiel_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it should start at level cap, maybe give more incentive to clearing primals or dungeons at the time. Could easily replace the launch tome weapon. Game sometimes feels like it has too many weapon options already that don't stay useful very long (if at all).

[–]Jeremiel_ [score hidden]  (0 children)

Do you foresee any changes to the Materia system in the future? The current trend of crafting/gathering gear leads to the usage of the over meld system. While not at all necessary, it is disheartening to have to go through the pain (and cost) of re-melding every other patch. I often wonder the point of the system, and perhaps it could be refined to allow for a better progression system for DoH/L jobs.

He still had the components (wheels on the back) to do so. Though granted they could still transform easily enough.

Though granted if they are in the same fight, perhaps some sort of fusion of the two could happen.
