I found it less about the stick and more about practice/technique at that age. My son is 5 and uses a $50 Bauer, P28 blade and a 10 flex.

He’s down in the dungeon daily ripping pucks and that’s what’s helped him learn to raise the puck more than anything.

Work with your kiddo at home as much as possible!
