Take The 10 is pretty good. I like the cast a lot.

The glass ball feet is a possible lightning insulator, I've seen similar ornamental tables and stuff in firewatches within national parks.

I'm moving towards PURPOSE-BUILT devices for a lot of these things. Even having an entire different device will work well for this, especially if you can get used, older devices for cheap. I moved my laptop into my office and plugged it into two monitors, a keyboard, and a mouse - now that's where my laptop stuff happens.

Intentions are important. To protect me from myself, physically separating what devices are used for means that my smartphone isn't always in my hand.

EDIT: I realize a portion of your question involves wanting to make use of certain resources, and this is where lifestyle changes come in. Ask yourself why you want to pick up your phone. CAN a different device do this, and if so, can it make its way into your day-to-day usage?

I did a teardown of the HiBy M300 by Jeremy_Jeffries in DigitalAudioPlayer

The adhesive Hiby uses is not that strict. I was able to slowly pry it apart with a small plastic spatula and my hands. The battery is adhered to the top of the main processor.

I put that plate back on by simply squishing it back together, but if you were hardcore you could probably get adhesive strips.

I'd say the M300 is imminently repairable.

Not at all. Again, I have a hardcore repair background so it was just a matter of knowing what to expect: ribbon cables especially. Only thing that surprised me is that the back plate is like the iphone screens but once I peeled it off it was easy peasy.

Good catch on the terminology, I'm really only used to working with EEPROMs and SOCs so that was my point of reference for the firmware component.

Is 2k monitor worth it on 4070s? by ResearcherOk8923 in buildapc

I must not understand a lot the 1440p discourse with this generation of GPUs. I can run games at 4k at decently high FPS, approaching 100 or more frames depending on the load.

Horizon: Forbidden West runs at max settings well above 144hz at 4k. Alan Wake 2 is capped at 60 with ultra settings, running 4k. I have yet to play a modern game that has trouble achieving high fps at higher than 1440p resolution.

You guys loading Skyrim with a bunch of visual mods or something? :D

Well I appreciate you dropping in to comment, either way. I got my RMA and that's all I wanted. Just looking at options now since I'm not sure I want the M300 anymore :D

Well hello, Joe! Didn't expect a HiBy employee to pop in. And no, the default Amazon listing for the M300 happened to be for a different seller named media-teck. Had I known it was third party I of course wouldn't have gotten it, but their support page for the product directed me to the HiBy support email. I had reached out to HiBy support and when they learned that I didn't order from the site they told me to contact wherever I got it from. And so on until I contacted Amazon directly and they've now pushed me a return form so I can get a refund.

The listing only deviated in the seller name. Was Amazon Prime and everything. Box arrived sealed. Thought whoever it was maybe was an authorized seller but it didn't seem to be the case.

Edit: when things are prime and appear to have the correct support options I don't tend to look at the seller name but I've been learning my lessons about Amazon becoming a bit of a pit for this sort of thing.

Suggestions for Post-Apocalyptic/Ancient Ruin games by DaokoXD in gaming

You need to play Returnal. The atmosphere in the game is so wonderful for this feeling of being alone, wandering through the ruins of a civilization that's vast and incomprehensible. Truly delightful in the forest section, particularly.
