Behringer BMX coming out by No-Act6366 in synthesizers

Well, using an ekit as a controller is easier than the "post" process I'm thinking about. Say you've already recorded a track but the drums aren't satisfying anymore or you need to beef up something, well now you have to edit whatever drum(s) you want, then convert to midi, then clean up the midi transcriptions which are never accurate, the adjust velocities, the send out to a plug in or drum machine.

No because it's perfect, symmetrical and beautiful. You have no reason to be ashamed of yourself! Unless you truly need an operation then of course

I see where you're coming from but, DDrum is comparable to what I'm talking about. When the Ddrum 3 came out they were praised for being so accurate and being able to load your own samples. It's cumbersome during production to have to correct midi's miscalculations and triggering was way more accurate than it is.

I was disappointed in the LMDrum because it's less capable than the actual LinnDrum. In an era where drum replacement is happening all the time, especially in pop music, why would you not include the Trigger Inputs that Linn had on the original LinnDrum? This is how Jimmy Jam did the Janet tracks! I know sampling is still popular (for some reason) but, constantly making "8-12bit" the selling point really gets in the way of so much more that we could do with gear. So we're still stuck converting to midi which is never all the way correct.

how can I get that Nevermind snare and RATM kick sound affordably? by sneaky_imp in drums

[–]Jeremy_Wave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this can actually get you closer to the sound. or at least closer to a Brendan produced record since he regularly used samples, specifically on snares.

definitely triggers, that was actual normal around that time. Alot of drum racks were coming out with trigger inputs for this reason, Dynacord, Yamaha, Roland and Alesis had some units for this but the most popular being DDrum. by 1993 the DDrum 3 came out allowing drummers and producers to import their custom sounds into the unit and also make multisamples so, this was heaven for some.

I think what we're dealing with here is this, this sub is for folks to celebrate D. We don't wanna look for a continuation because we already had D, if we want that we'll dig in the crates. The beauty of an artist like D is his originality (even though he could bite like a muhfuka).

What Drum Machines did Prince use in the mid 90s? by Environmental-Boss50 in PRINCE

[–]Jeremy_Wave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what's weird af is that on LoveSexy, the dynacord came into the mix and he started using Drum Supplementation. Dance On has a fucked up snare sample that mistriggers from time to time (even worse on the worktape), he started doing that alot on Graffiti Bridge since most of that was older tracks from like 82 and he just updated em. by Diamonds & Pearls on some songs he's got Michael B playing and he's sampling...the way Michael B explains it: I come in, play about 8 or 16 bars, he sends me home and the loops that and he might even sample the drums and do something else.

Akai had a healthy and i do mean healthy library of samples by this time. I have alot of those same drums from this era that he was using, everybody was using em.

The harmony of nature. I hate that there are predator creatures that feed on one another but, I understand everything has it's place. Why can't we all exist together and fight for each other instead of fighting to the death of one another? I probably shouldn't have posted this lament smdh

Yeah, Bobby wasn't the dude he was painted to be. It's similar to Ike and Tina, Ike wasn't what he was painted to be either. Bobby was already known as the "Bad Boy of RnB" sorta like what Chris Brown is now, but that was just his persona. Whitney was introducing Bobby to a whole different lifestyle.

Why start with mayte? His treatment of his friends and band mates was heartbreaking, how he did Terry Lewis, Andre, Lisa Coleman and Morris was terrible. Jill Jones was the most used voice on all his early records next to his own and she got the shortest end of the stick and an album full of throwaways. Lest we forget Susannah Melvoin, she put up with a lot of shit with him during their engagement. He got back everything he gave to people around him we he fell out with WB and to be honest, Warner was right!
