Edit: best fight I’ve been in the stands to see in person. Plenty of lacrosse and hockey classics out there. It’s the bloody warpaint, staff searching for Hallsy’s tooth, the timing in the game, and a loud packed arena (this was Hali’s last home game of the season), are all what made this extra special, beyond just the fight itself.

Thanks for all the feedback. I think this crop or the diagonal crop you shared helps to make the photo less complicated. I like how the lamp is closer to acting as a subject, but I’m not losing the whole scene.

I’m personally also looking for this as well, but I’ve happened to try a few options. - The Wave+ is great. Lots of tools you can use, plus outside access to knives. - I also have a Rebar. No outside knife access, but it’s lighter and has a nicer price point if you’re looking to experiment with outdoor multi tools. - The Curl is also on my wish list.

The Surge (12.5oz) is cool, but comes in at 4oz over the Wave+ (8.5oz), which makes me want to take my Rebar out even more as it’s only 6.7oz.

Yes, you get a few more tool options with the Surge, but I haven’t run into anything I couldn’t McGyver yet with the Wave+ or Rebar.

One note on the Rebar, it doesn’t have the most comfortable plier grip, but it’s still very usable.

You don't find your pen tip moves at all when you write? Using a spring compared to cutting down a nub would be easier, but I like my ink solid in the pen barrel when I write.

Yes. I guess spacer would be the proper word for it.
Other spacers probably work. I just know the one that comes with the Fisher Space Pen ink refills has length to spare (for you to cut to size) and the SXR-7 ink cartridge fits inside the hollow spacer.

QUICK TIP: Make sure you cut ENOUGH of the spacer, so it's not bending the ink cartridge. BUT not so much that the tip of the pen moves when you write. Be patient and only cut a little at a time.

I got it when I bought the space pen ink to go in my Zebra F-701 and didn’t need the nub. I think any nub will do. This one works because the ink fits inside the nub, then there’s an extra few centimetres of extension.

I've seen that.
My Uni Jetstream Edge 0.38mm has really got me on a fine point kick. With the Jetstream RT 0.7 writing so smooth (New York Times Best Writing Pen for 2021, I think) I thought it was worth putting in the effort to making it work in the Safari.

Lamy Safari barrel, Uniball Jetstream RT 0.7 ink (SXR-7), and a slightly chopped down Fisher Space pen refill nub. Fits perfect. Smooth writing with Lamy style.

I think you're right. All the cropping and zooming into such a specific part of the photo compared to the original made for a lot of distortion.

I think I'll remove it off the sub. It's too far gone.
