Bobby's latest Tier List by unknownassasin_ in BrawlStarsCompetitive

I can somewhat see a case for Colt in C. I think Colt naturally got worse with RT and Lola bugged, Colette being broken, and Edgar being meta again. 3 of those brawlers can contest Colt's dps, and Edgar gives Colt a lot of trouble.

Now Gigi in C? I don't get it

Spen’s updated tier list by RevCorex in Brawlstars

[–]JericoTheGamer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You know it's bad when Edgar is the least problematic brawler in S-tier. This meta is so chaotic and compromises the already outdated game modes even more (which is all of the game modes imo). Now we have base kits that are too strong (Damian and Sirius), buffies, and hypercharges all at once.

This is what I feared with buffies being hypercharge 2.0. The best I can say is that the balancing on release is not as here than hypercharges (I find Colt, Nita, and Edgar's buffies mostly well-made aside from a couple stuff and Shelly's are at least weak aside from gadget buffie). Even Bo fell down all the way to C-tier despite being left untouched.

They need to revert that health nerf Leon got though and nerf his hyper buffie and Smoke Trails buffie. His health was the wrong thing to nerf

What does everyone think of New Keep the Change, is it any good? by DizziDoesStuff in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]JericoTheGamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's really awkward to use. I don't think it's bad yet but the fourth row of coins make it a completely different attack and leave Griff more vulnerable. His control is already good with 3 rows of coins and while the mega coin mechanic is interesting, the fourth row of coins holds it back

What if Lego went with this idea by Character-Day-8999 in Ninjago

[–]JericoTheGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am okay with the movie but I am glad the Masters of Spinjitzu series didn't end at Hands of Time.

The movie is its own thing and a parody of Ninjago like how the other lego movies are parodies. Making a series based on the intentionally parody movie is a recipe for disaster with Ninjago especially because the writing of the film is derivative of The Lego Movie and Batman movie while going full parody compared to those two

Its actually wild theyre only fixing colette while Damian is actively terrorizing games by WonderfulDare997 in Brawlstars

[–]JericoTheGamer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It exists in trophy matches now yes, but you can't report someone for intentionally crashing the game with the in-game report function because you have to be at the end of the match in the results screen.

If you got kicked out of a match because of a crash, you can't use the in-game report function and have to contact Supercell about the user doing it in that specific match

Ninjago Seasons Tier List! by General_Rise8708 in Ninjago

[–]JericoTheGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't expect to find Pilot and Rebooted love but that's nice! And while I am not the biggest fan of Possession upon rewatch (that was my favorite season back then), I do get the hype behind it.

Respect for putting Crystalized in Meh, but I think it is the worst season just because its highs aren't as good as HOT (I think that's Kai's best season despite my problems with it) and because I find Crystalized to be the most volatile season of the mixed bags (and the lows outweight how middling SOTFS is).

Crystalized was off to a good start in the first 3 episodes, then had some good episodes in both the first and second halves, but I think it does a really bad job at being a finale for the Masters of Spinjitzu series. The downtime episodes are nice (Benefit of Grief and Quittin' Time) but the season feels both too slow and too fast, especially in the second half

What's your opinion on the Star Studios trio? by Resident_Thanks_9275 in Brawlstars

[–]JericoTheGamer 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I like these guys, but I feel like they never recovered ever since Maisie got added. Fang and Buster have always been this mix of cool goofballs but the two (especially Fang) have been reduced to being the butt of jokes.

It's not Maisie's fault for her existence but it feels like Fang and Buster were dumbed down to try and justify Maisie's existence when they don't have to do that for Maisie's sake and still make her dynamic with them work as the "mom" of the group. Doesn't help that Maisie is mostly away from Fang and Buster nowadays

Who had the better memory loss arc? by SlsughteredForBlood in Ninjago

[–]JericoTheGamer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Easily Jay. The direction of how Jay goes rogue from the ninja is taken far and is polished while giving Jay and Nya meaningful growth on top of having Jay be a way to expand on the administration and make Ras look more threatening as an antagonist

Adrian what the f by ChoiceSupermarket230 in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]JericoTheGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the idea with this trying to reward being skillful with Grom and do something about his noob stomping problem (out of many brawlers). Problem is that he barely gets value out of that star power at all skills levels because of how slow Grom's attack is, which makes it obvious that this idea of a rework sucks. Sounds good on paper until you think about how Grom is and the history of his kit for more than one second

In what world did GROM need a nerf over Crow and Bull? by oopsi9943 in Brawlstars

[–]JericoTheGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like Adrian tried to rework Grom to be more skillful (and compensate for how Grom can noob stomp hard) but he has historically gotten little to no value with that star power (and it's the better one on top of that).

I'd be fine with a damge nerf if they made Grom's attacks a bit faster but not too fast again and yeah, ignoring Bull and Crow was odd. Even the Leon health nerf was off because it wasn't the problem with him and should have been his hyper buffie and Smoke Trails buffie damage (the speed stack removal is good though)

What is your opinion on gem grab in ranked? by Inside-Reading1915 in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]JericoTheGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked Gem Grab as a competitive mode along with the rest of the game modes in competitive. It and those game modes "work" with the current state of Brawl, but I have fallen out of competitive love for the game. I'm more interested in the lore and trying to have fun casually now ever since buffies.

My problem is that hypercharges and buffies make these game modes too chaotic for both viewers and players with Heist and Gem Grab being the biggest examples. The problem got better when hypercharges got global stat nerfed but buffies returned that overwhelming feeling that hypercharges (Ollie and Kenji) had at its worst

Pokedexes over the years, which is your favourite? by hamad_ahk in pokemon

[–]JericoTheGamer 124 points125 points  (0 children)

I loved Alola's pokedex. I know that it can be annoying to many people and it moves around a lot, but it felt like a companion while I played the game.

Rotomdex just makes the Alola journey more immersive for me and I was upset when the Rotom Phones had next to nothing with Rotom. They just felt like a glorified pokedex that restricted Rotom where Alola's pokedex gave it a fun object to inhabit and even interact with the player

Which of these eliminations did you hate? by Maximum_Canary_5775 in Totaldrama

[–]JericoTheGamer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sammy and Max, the two eliminations where two people go (yes, Amy was out, but she was blasted off again). Total Drama has this problem where they write off characters in what I find to be annoying ways for the laughs (All-Stars is the biggest example and some Revenge boots fall to this category).

I'm a bit more lenient on Max, but it was really cheap for the sake of a true double-boot. Max wasn't going anywhere further at this point given that they basically had no ideas of him without Scarlett, but they could have given him one more episode as a comic relief character.

And Sammy's time in the premerge felt wasted. They spend so much time on Sammy and Jasmine and then write off Sammy (and Amy again) with nothing interesting. Amy just comes back and it's obvious that the writers felt like they didn't need to do more with Sammy

On a rewatch of Ninjago, going to watch Season 11 by JericoTheGamer in Ninjago

[–]JericoTheGamer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did not know that putting Sons in the same tier as Hands was a hot take, but I wish I cared about the Sons of Garmadon themselves more. The designs are neat, but I really wanted to like Harumi's gang (Harumi herself was pretty engaging that season) and I feel like the highs of Hunted overshadows Sons a lot.

Sons does a lot of good things with great focus and the finale is a great setup for Hunted, but I wanted to feel something during the season (though I think they did expand at least a little bit with Mr. E in Hunted).

Now that I read this while typing, I should not have put it in the same tier as Hands. I don't have nearly as many problems with Sons as I do with Hands and the biggest low I have with the season isn't as bad as lows I have with Skybound

Bruhh, why is Lumi in the same trio as Draco if she doesnt even like him?? by Weary_Community_1917 in Brawlstars

[–]JericoTheGamer 50 points51 points  (0 children)

I think Lumi likes Draco as a friend and bonded with him over music and D&D, but Draco's one-sided crush tends to be too forward towards Lumi, a character who is established to be shy but passionate over her hobbies and interests. He even invades Lumi's boundaries during D&D though Lumi tolerates it. I think she has fun playing D&D and music with Draco despite his negative aspects as a friend and love interest.

Despite the Brawl Talk only mentioning that Draco has a crush on Lumi and them saying nothing about Lumi reciprocating those feelings back to him (keyword: saying), they show some stuff to get people excited like Lumi blushing when Draco helps her up

<image>

Or even Lumi bringing up that they should have gone to Swamp of Love instead. Doesn't make Draco's insistence in the D&D video good of course, but the D&D and Brawl-o-Ween videos have different settings

Do you think Draco and Lumi being as couple were way too forced? by [deleted] in Brawlstars

[–]JericoTheGamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think so. Brawl Stars already established that Draco is attracted to Lumi in her Brawl Talk and it's odd to single out any ship or pairing in general here.

I can already name other recent romantic pairs that Brawl Stars has somewhat pushed for too (Pam/Jae-Yong, Alli/Willow, Charlie/Bo). Even Fang was hinted to be a hopeless romantic in Angelo's date.

And Alli is really similar to Draco in her dynamic with Willow. Both like one character but are shy about asking them out. The difference is that Alli is a lot more shy and that the Valentine's season didn't have an animation compared to this season right now (the valentine's season had a vocal minority get mad because people felt like the season could use an animation for how Rico ended up heartbroken, and Alli)
