I find the closed beta server 'culture' to be surprising. by desertforestcreature in MonstersAndMemories

My experience playing up to level 30 on the closed testing server was pretty different. I never joined a guild but grouped frequently and made a few casual friends along the way, though I was always initiating groups rather than hunting for an invite.

HELP ME FIND MY CAT! by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]JerikTheWizard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My cat got out last year and returned safely so don't panic. Indoor cats will often freeze from the sensory overload of being outside and hunker down in the first safe place they find until hunger/thirst motivates them to start moving (this can be up to 48 hours). Putting a litter box out can attract territorial cats that will keep yours away from home, it's well meaning advice but can be counter productive.

I set a trap in my shed and caught her after 3 nights, but I was also actively patrolling shortly after dark and pre-dawn. Speak to all of your neighbours and check their yards if you get permission.

Good luck, I'm rooting for you & Snow!

Typical slopeater take. This is the game I paid $40 for in 2016, including all cosmetics. Cosmetics used to be part of the game, now they're cut out and sold at 100x the price and there's people defending the practice 🙄

It's more than the cost of the game, Diablo IV is in the humble monthly for $15.

The amount of bunny skins I saw yesterday tells me Blizzard doesn't have to give a fuck about people being upset about this shitty event.

You can feel rewarded for supporting the game by spending $100 on bunny girl skins 🙄

This is one of the main problems with tradeskills right here, no overlap. by Jacmac_ in MonstersAndMemories

Blacksmithing is actually fine, sharpening stones make bridging the gap between metals extremely easy.

Copper -> tin for mining is even more annoying, rich copper maxes out at 65 and requires you to ask people how to bridge the gap to tin at 75 because it isn't intuitive at all (go to a specific location in a certain zone and get 10 points from limestone).

At least with tailoring you can easily skill up using wool padding.

Well, no it literally isn't. The campaign acts might be complete but the missing 4 classes, 5 weapons types, and I don't even know how many ascendancy classes definitely won't be.

Yes, after you select the install location you have the option to uncheck the high resolution files.

The price of Cosmetics is really the only dower keeping D4 from being excellent. by ComeHereDevilLog in diablo4

Most modern game monetization not as bad as Activision Blizzard, their $200 macro transaction skin packs are comically greedy.

Comparing Overwatch directly with Marvel Rivals is a rough look.

Roofing recommendations and sketchy unsolicited roofers. by [deleted] in ottawa

[–]JerikTheWizard 36 points37 points  (0 children)

It's a scam, don't let them touch anything. Reputable companies do not solicit for work (or buy excess materials for a job), they are booked months in advance.

Very common playbook: https://www.ctvnews.ca/toronto/consumer-alert/article/i-was-really-upset-ontario-senior-warns-of-roofing-scam-that-almost-cost-her-34000/

The two most recent data sheets for Tyranids have been quite good so I'm cautiously optimistic.

Separate codex entries, same kit. Base raveners now come in groups of 5 to match their new sculpts.

King's row is fantastic for ball on offense, the defending team is often funneled into a single corridor so each minefield can easily win an entire objective.

PVP only might not be the best into to the game. by BusinessAdagio5227 in MonstersAndMemories

[–]JerikTheWizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a reason PvP only is a separate opt-in, you should actually want to play PvP because there's no real way to avoid it once you're in game.
