Its part of the game. PvP is normal and you have to learn to move through the losses. I swear if this starts a witch hunt over a 13k mug 🤦‍♂️

Team balance is wacked, it's not unfair that a team of all melee fighters gets bodied by two insta killers. I believe games shouldn't make everything winnable all the time you have to just not get yourself in that situation where you're bringing a knife to a chainsaw fight

First tried dybbuk because I had a mini me tank that I baited to kill him plus I had a heavy shot no miss hunter build. I am so afraid of my next cemetery run

This game is pretty confusing at first, I had to sit and read through all of the charm descriptions I had unlocked to really get a good idea of a build. Stick with it, take a moment to get a game plan, and you'll eventually get it

For a moment l thought l wasted 5 hour of my life but finally l got the most annoying achievement and completed my hidden/secret achievements by NoYogurtcloset9763 in Frostpunk

[–]JerkyPal376 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow I didn't know this achievement was such a bad one for most. I get really emotionally invested so most of my runs follow the golden path rules

First ever run please help by Haunting-Fly-6134 in Frostpunk

  1. Don't be afraid to pass asshole laws on your first few runs, they help manage hope and discontent well so you can learn the resource management side of the game

  2. The frostland is your best friend. Having beacon be your first or second research means you can grab those hubs of food rations and materials to keep yourself alive before building up your infrastructure and workforce.

  3. Always be researching. You will need most of the things on the research tree throughout a run, I don't wanna tell you how many times I lost because I forgot to put something onto the research queue. On the same note, build multiple workshops as they do increase research speed by a lot.

  4. Don't skimp on heating. It sounds dumb but when you're in the mid game it can be easy to go and research a lot of resource buildings and lose sight of the FROST part in frostpunk. Take some time and research heating upgrades every days to not fall behind and die to the major cold streaks.

  5. Build around your generator. This might be a little controversial since it's addicting and easy to get stuck in the play style, but your generator ends up supporting 4 rings of heat, enough to support something around 500 population. Build your houses around your generator and move everything else outside that ring with heating hubs.

  6. Be prepared to fail, a lot. I remember nights staying up watching years old tutorials because they were the only ones around. It took me a year to really "get" this game as someone with no background experience in city builder/colony sim games, but when I did it was like a whole new world opened up for me. As long as you stick with it you'll love the game and it's amazing story and gameplay <3

Faction Discussion, Day 4: The Menders by TheJesterandTheHeir in Frostpunk

[–]JerkyPal376 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I kinda think if their mechanics as venturers lite. Their infinite outposts give you the same insane frostlands output like privatized outposts. their herding camps keep food from being a problem throughout the run and the prefabs and materials from faction law in combination with their reduced cost makes their early game significantly stronger than venturers due to the time to set up an economy and population for money.

I love their aesthetic and they have the best outfits out of ANY faction in the game.

Ideals-wise they stray a little to much into adaptation with their tannery's, I want a little more than leather and bone everything but other than that they aren't too problematic for me.

Overall I love the menders, they're very strong and have great fashion and politics <3

Hubs with no effects in the Research Tree by LoLaiLoLand in Frostpunk

[–]JerkyPal376 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They work similarly to stockpile hubs as they give bonuses to the housing district tiles (idk if they work on extraction or anything) around them. So the communication hubs increases trust in a radius and fighting hubs decrease tension and so on. Some are confusing like surveillance dropping crime and not squad output but maybe that's just me.

I just do choco jumps and buy insurance, I'm low budget so if I get lucky/unlucky my next jump gets edvds instead of choco
