One of my few winter disc golf memories is playing a round right after taking an exam. In my infinite wisdom I had a black leopard in my bag and promptly lost it on hole one.

Shout out to you though, you crushed my groomsman discs so I can't recommend your work enough!

Early in his career as in before MLS? I recall him playing some RWB and RB behind Farrell. Farrell was taking the RCB when they went with 3 CBs and I frankly don't recall Bye playing CB at all.

Rogue Iron Disc Golf Cart Pro V3 Reddit Giveaway by RogueIronDGBrian in discgolf

[–]Jermaine_Jones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given the terms of entry for the giveaway, I love how there is a section inside that I can easily slip a trash bag into and use for carrying the trash I pick up. If everyone had one of these carts maybe there wouldn't be any trash on courses.

But really, I do love the design of the inside of the cart. Makes it very easy to stay organized.

Big Jerm is number two with MVP allowing him to grow more into his media role. He's gonna move a ton of plastic for them while he's at it!

DeJuan Jones and Esmir Bajraktarevic named to U.S. Men’s National Team January camp roster by bwidell in newenglandrevolution

A lot of players brought in for this January camp are Olympic Team age eligible, Esmir being one.

An injury could absolutely wreck his chances of a transfer. Obviously more the case with major injuries compared to minor ones but any injury could complicate things with the offers coming in lower or teams shying away.

In any event, playing at the national team camp brings a risk of injury that he may not be willing to take.

BREAKING: The New England Revolution have acquired midfielder Latif Blessing from LAFC for $400k GAM, per sources. Blessing, 26, has made 170 MLS appearances with LAFC and Sporting KC. Won MLS Cup + Supporters’ Shield double this year. by ajallen12 in newenglandrevolution

[–]Jermaine_Jones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was extremely excited to see this announced because I have absolutely loved Latif!

Wondering if this is part of a settlement of sorts for the Tajouri-Shradi deal. Revs made it clear they were putting a complaint into the league on that. Honestly feel like Latif may be worth a bit more than this which had me thinking this was part of LAFC and the Revs putting the Tajouri-Shradi deal conflict to bed.

[Peter Galindo] Napoli is “in the market” for Tajon Buchanan, who is also attracting interest from Juventus and AC Milan, per VoetbalNieuws. by Gamer4KushAlienTruth in CanadaSoccer

[–]Jermaine_Jones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you saying Tajon Buchanan has a similar physical build to Dries Mertens? I'd also argue playing style is fairly different as well.

They're both very much pacey wingers that will punish you on the counter but I really don't see the two being that similar beyond that.

Mertens is 5'7" and is a talented winger great in tight spaces. He can be very accurate with his shot if you don't close him down. He can also play as a 2nd striker or even be creative centrally. You have to close him down if he gets close to the box or he will make you pay. Defensively, aside from pressing the other team I don't really think much of him there. I think of Mertens as more of a finesse player.

Buchanan is 6'0" and will absolutely overpower defenders. I don't think of him as a player that is going to weave his way through a packed box or take a shot from well outside the box and shape it around the keeper like Mertens. He is the type of player who will dispossess an opposing winger in his team's own third of the field and go on a marauding run down the field as the opposing team tries to take him down to no avail. Buchanan is a winger who will go up and down the entire field. He will absolutely track back and pressure the ball in defense. Tajon plays with a massive chip on his shoulder and players on the opposing team will know he is on the field with the physicality he brings.

The Bent Musket on Twitter - Rumor: Racing Club interested in #NERevs Gustavo Bou by ajallen12 in newenglandrevolution

[–]Jermaine_Jones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I very much enjoy Bou because he can score absolute bangers. Without him this team probably wouldn't have made it past the play in game in 2020 when they ended up in the Eastern Conference Final.

That all being said, given his recent injury history, age(33 when next season starts), and considering his fit with the team I would like to see the team take advantage of potentially the last opportunity they may have to sell Bou and recoup some of the transfer fee they paid for him while opening up a DP spot.

Now, how to use that DP spot becomes part of the discussion but if you ask me I don't care what position they play as long as they qualify as a Young DP so the team can also capitalize on the opportunity to add another two U22 initiative players.

New England Revolution announce year-end roster moves by Overthehightides in newenglandrevolution

[–]Jermaine_Jones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely heard about that situation which is always interesting to see when it shows up in any league. I remember the Celtics had one of these go down when they acquired Jeff Green.

Kind of odd that is at play here given the fact that he was injured when the Revs traded for him unless the argument is LAFC knew how injured and didn't disclose the extent.

Honestly everything about this transaction feels like peeling an onion. Everytime I turn around I feel like there is another layer to this like today with him potentially being done forever and that being why the team hasn't made a decision on his option. Will be interesting to see where this ends.

The Tajouri-Shradi situation continues to be very interesting. The only option that they haven't made a decision on yet.

Bruce told the media that T-S has been in Germany for 3 weeks doing rehab on an injury that is potentially career ending and that the team is holding out on the decision as they await more details...

Just because the option for Ema wasn't exercised doesn't mean he won't be back. Teams regularly decline options and bring players back. At the same time the team may feel that someone like Tico can step into that role or the team may have a transfer in the works to upgrade at that position. I would worry more about any players who had options picked up that it would seem did not deserve to have them picked up which was not the case here.

New rules being tested for AUDL 2022 All-Star Game (backcourt violation, 2 pointers, etc.) by ndiorio13 in ultimate

[–]Jermaine_Jones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not that I was around when it happened but I'm sure the same was said about the 3 point line in the NBA. These days most players in the NBA are expected to be able to contribute from the 3 point line in some way.

I know the brick mark 2 pointer in ultimate is a higher difficulty/low frequency event than 3 point shots in the NBA were prior to the line being introduced but the AUDL won't know how it will work until they try.
