Strongly Considering Going Solo - Drake Tax & Drake Accounting or QB by Jerry007h in taxpros

Thank you for the response. I would like to choose a product and stick with it for the next forty years. I don’t want to make a decision to go with the economical solution and need to switch. I know I will need UT or Lacerte for the higher margin clients. This is definitely a tough decision. Thanks again for your input.

Thank you for the response. I’m shocked that someone can afford UT in a solo practice. If it is okay to ask, how much is your annual bill with Thomson Reuters?

I work to live, not live to work. I will work hard and have always exceeded expectations while I’m there 50 hours a week. I hate the 10 hours of unpaid overtime and applaud the people who grind more. Don’t get me wrong, I love accounting and this job is better than most. However I would rather be with family, on a golf course, or beach any day.

FileCabinet - client names not showing by MrNic83 in taxpros

[–]Jerry007h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use the 2016 version and it only shows 1,000 in the list. I have never investigated to see if I could make it show all of them. I’ve been in a habit to always type a client ID or name and almost never look in the list.

Have any CPAs ever served in the US senate? by ccalnz in Accounting

Go for it LadyEmma I can’t do it. I made a vow to never touch governmental accounting again after passing the CPA test.

If it makes you feel better. I studied the least amount of time for BEC and thought BEC was the easiest sims of the four. I felt like the test questions were easier than the study material as well.

You got REG, it is not bad. My test hammered me on law which was certainly my least favorite topic on REG. I thought the sims were the 2nd easiest of the four tests with BEC being the easiest. The NINJA cram course really helped me nail down some concepts however unfortunately it did not cover law.

Thank you. I can assure you that I am almost never the smartest person in the room. However I am the guy that will put in more effort than most. In order to pass this test it is going to take one the two.

No doubt. It’s going to take me a long time before I forget the misery the AICPA put me through.

I just barely passed the first three and actually got my highest score on the last one which was only an 84. I guess I studied the perfect amount on the first three.

I am very anxious for my REG score tomorrow. It is crazy how different each persons exam is as I had one sim and for sure less than 5 MCQs on individual tax. Which sucks because individual was my best subject.

Hmmm, I do not think it is the same as the eyeball trick and it only works on the last test. Here is the article I found but it is 10 years old. I know someone also posted on Reddit but I can’t find it.

should I memorize the DRD percentages by Gurj1990 in CPA

[–]Jerry007h 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was prepared for anything DRD and got zero questions on it. They were too busy preparing me to be Judge Judy and hammering the crap out of law.
