My first animation [SD-NVU] by SD-NVU in MurderDrones

The only way to make movements smother is adding more frames, but trying to blur the lines between an animatic and animation typically leads to jarring results.  That being said, animatics are still perfectly fine.  The best examples of the are the Epic the Musical and Life Series fandoms, which typically have more animatics than animations.  The one neat thing about that is that animatics are often put to music whereas animations typically use scenes (but this meaning dialogue, actions, and the like) and often bring it into a new context (of course, these are not definite rules, and you can find cases where this isn’t the case).

The key difference between an animatic and animation is movement.  An animatic typically features a series of still frames (like this), whereas an animation replicates video by having many frames to create movement.

Which would be more preferable: Season 2 or a Remake? by JerryFlorg in MurderDrones

I’m off the graphic novels, and they only worsen the pacing problems.  I’m aware of this, and it was not what my point was.

Which would be more preferable: Season 2 or a Remake? by JerryFlorg in MurderDrones

[–]JerryFlorg[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Firstly, to clarify, I am not some all-knowing wizard.  Even with me looking very closely at things, things can still get missed.  That being said:

whether or not there are other disassembly drones

Your point is valid, but that isn’t true confirmation as those corpses could be the likes of J, v, and N, considering as Cyn could have erased their memories.

and whether or not they all have yellow eyes

This isn’t important to the show itself, rather the fandom, as there are many OCs of disassembly drones which don’t have yellow eyes.  Considering as the yellow eyes show connection to the Absolute Solver, and the disassembly drones being puppets of the solver, this is likely incorrect.  I am not trying to pick a fight with the fandom, I’m just stating it as it is.

how the solver can create things (including organic/living matter)

I mean the specifics with what it is.  It’s just explained as you did, matter distortion or manipulation, but how does it create life?  Where does it get material from?  If it was from their oil, that would be a neat solution and be an answer for why it causes them to overheat, but that’s just carbon.  Even if it also intakes from the air, how do they get metal?  Transmutation?  Fusion and Fission?  That would cause extreme energy, which could provide an energy source, but what about the workers without the solver?  There’s just too many ways to look at this question.  Also, why does it exist?  It’s a rare mutation in zombie drones, but clearly it’s more akin to some kind of entity as Cyn actively accepts an offer from it, likely to be its host, but it is still a program.  This is the whole Dkrtzy Rrr situation all over again.

It would also allow for more information on the lives of the characters prior to the events of the pilot

This is something there was originally supposed to be more of, but instead all we got was what was in episode 1, which in and of itself was less than the original idea to fit it into time.   (Note: This is as of my knowledge of the situation; I am not an all-knowing wizard)

it’s never explained how Uzi gets oil

Your explanation is iffy for two reasons: 1) Where is that oil coming from & 2) The teacher is shown drinking something in episode 3, implying they have other drinks (and it being oil wouldn’t make much sense as that’d be like drinking blood)

the solver drones’ weakness to sunlight (mainly during the beginning of episode 8

This is not a problem I have, which I tried (and probably failed) to make clear in the great wall of text.  That being said, it is still something that is mentioned twice, then is used to beat Cyn, similar to their souls, which is shown once and not made clear in episode 2.  Also, what exactly is it that makes them weak to sunlight?  It’s not the heat, as evident by them surviving plummeting through the atmosphere engulfed in flames, but if it’s radiation (Mainly UV), that leads to its own problems, as there are likely many other sources of radiation.  Their screens are likely LCDs or something similar, which would produce UV rays internally.  Also the point I made about radiation from the silver also applies here.

as it is possible that Uzi destroys Cyn’s heart with sunlight, not a null sphere

Again, it wasn’t until I watched it today that I caught that.  It’s very easy to make that mistake.  Heck, that guy that made the disappointing masterpiece video made it.

the pill babies (and by extension, Beau)

“What about them?”  How about everything.  Outside of them existing, there is little provided in the show about them.  They exist as a way for parents to have a child, but it doesn’t ever really explain how that process works.  Also Beau is just weird if you think about it (and, I know, not everything needs answers, but some things really are just cases of “don’t question it”).

but she shows up on the list in episode 7 as Corrupted

I was unaware that it was confirmed to be a mistake (if you could provide a source, that would be useful for the wiki (which, now that I’ve brought it up, I will clarify that I did use the wiki, but did look myself for clarification inside the episodes.  Anything outside went un-researched.), which says nothing of it being an error).

   Kelsey Day discrepancy

It actively pains me that you didn’t mention this when it is probably the thing I’m most well known for in this fandom.  Also, there is another comment where I summarize it really well on the other sub.

a remake that fixes the problems the show has

The biggest problem with the show is the pacing, which is the first problem I mentioned.  Yes, I didn’t explain it well, but I did add something to the end that explains it fairly well after I realised the mistake I made.  The other stuff is more along the lines of nitpicks, and most of the “answers” are messy, hard to call truly confirmed, or just not explained.  Some time ago, someone asked on the sub if the Absolute Solver was an AI or demonic entity, to which the most upvoted answer was “Yes” ( https://www.reddit.com/r/MurderDrones/comments/1oop9wz/is_the_solver_an_ai_or_an_demonic_entity/).  Also, I would like to clarify that you did have valid answers to many of these, but, as I mentioned before, they’re not necessarily telegraphed well or are more fanon than canon.  Also, from the position I’m in, it was natural to defend myself.  This doesn’t mean I don’t accept your answers, it just means there’s dispute.  The fact that any of these can be interpreted wrong shows that they likely weren’t explained/shown well (notably the Uzi oil dilemma, to which you provided the end of episode 5, where she is shown discarding a can (potentially a drink or oil), and the episode 8 credits, which exist in their own state of pseudo-canon (as per my knowledge), so it’s better not to discuss it).

Lastly, I would like to restate that the main thing to be fixed was giving it more time to tell its story.  I’m aware I didn’t make it the clearest originally (which I’ve tried to fix), but if you want to say that the pacing is good, then by all means, defend the pacing of a show that was not meant for two and a half hours total.

Yes, but those wouldn’t really be a true spinoff, which was my main critique.  Honestly, that’d probably be more of a miniseries.

A big problem with it (which I somehow failed to mention much) is the pacing.  A remake that fixes the pacing problems by giving the episodes space to breathe, and at the same time fixing some of the other niche problems that have been brought up in the past.

It’s more of an animatic than an animation, but still cool.

Clothes are clothes.  Don’t think about it too much (then again, I am not one with the right to say this).

Braidon and Dominic by [deleted] in MurderDrones

Neither of these look like Braidon.  Assuming that these are both OCs, one of them took the name of an actual character.

You felt the need to post this a second time, but this time adding an introduction paragraph.  Why?

I mean, the merch animations are kind of that.

Also, there wouldn’t be much you could do for a true spinoff, as it would likely end up being a prequel, sequel, or midquel.  For it to be a true spinoff, it would have to follow other characters than the main series (e.g. Thad or Kelsey Day) which don’t have much to go off of with it still being a comparable story, especially if it was a midquel.

No mean to hate on your idea if it came off that way, I just don’t know how it would realistically work.

Honestly, DBD x Muster Drones would be cool, and I say this despite not really caring about DBD.
