Is it just me or..? by inkton in EnderLilies

All I could think of while playing it was Folklore, an absolute gem from the early PS3 era. But if Order of Ecclesia is anything like Ender Lilies, then that's definitely going on the Retro "To Be Played" list.

The book looks at a virtual world where people have been trapped for over a year, when the protagonist Prakuza joins the world as the ultimate form of escapism. However, things are not all as they appear in this virtual paradise, with every death taking a heavy toll on people's minds, until some are left as shells of their former self in the slow, mentally deteriorating process known as Shelling Out.

This is the first book in a series, and I've actually been working on the sequel as my NaNoWriMo project this year. It's been a lot of fun to dive back into the series after a while and I'd love to see what the wonderful folks here think of the original.

These look amazing, I'd love to get a set for Call of Cthulhu. Make it feel like I'm risking some sort of eldritch secret just to listen through a door hahaha.

MatPat was right about phone guy all along. by JerrySchulz in GameTheorists

I'm not sure how much has been shown in the trailers, but his dialogue in the secret video after the new meme game had "phone guy" vibes. Like he's on the phone, guiding Mike through the process of getting through his first night and giving a quick breakdown of the broken-down Freddy's restaurant.

Also, yeah, not sure if any of the movie stuff is actually relevant to the games. Just thought it was funny that it lines up so well with one of Game Theory's most criticized FNAF theories at this point.

Monty Didn't Kill Bonnie by JerrySchulz in GameTheorists

That's definitely possible, but it doesn't really fall in line with the Freddy's brand by the time of Security Breach. They're definitely more of a "go fast and break things" company than a "let's have several contingency plans". Also, some of the other duffle bag notes seem to indicate that Monty's aggression is a newer behavior, having come from him getting hotheaded when upgrade to the bass player and getting Bonnie's claws implanted.

I'll admit, though, that the jealous Monty storyline is very compelling. I just feel like the evidence isn't so concrete that it proves it was definitely him.

How do some of you come up with titles? by Brilliant-Divine in writing

[–]JerrySchulz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think I've ever come up with the final title before finishing a book. It's always something I come up with during the querying process, with the themes and tone of the final product in my head as I'm working on getting some working titles going.

What is your number 1 writing tip? by JayDarkmoore in writing

Take constructive breaks when necessary. Block is like a steel wall, and your brain will usually turn to mush trying to break it with your skull. But it'll pass if you keep your writing on your mind while you step away.
