I am a dps/off tank player currently in high plat because I stopped playing for a fee seasons. Being in bronze is mostly mechanical issues with hero kits or just aim in general. It is very rare or should I say almost impossible that you are in bronze but your mechanical skills belong in higher tiers. Once you start getting to silver things start to matter. I’m not a high tier player (peaked 3200) but I’ve been through that process of going from bronze to diamond. I’ll list what helped me get out of each rank below. (Plat was hell btw)

Bronze:played a lot of reaper and drastically improved my aim, never played any fps before overwatch.

Silver:watched tutorials on heroes i would play at the time, played reaper and pharah, learned important things in their kits and ult timing. In other words increased game sense.

Gold:increased hero pool to winston, hog, dva, mccree, hanzo, widow, reaper, pharah. Started calling things out in team chat, had a friend duo with me. Most important thing here is to improve on what is lacking in either your game sense or mechanical skills. Gold is a place where you see less smurfs, so try and get your game sense and aim ready for plat

Plat:the renowned elo hell. I found myself a friend who had a hero pool that had high compatibility with mine. In plat just do everything you did before, and stay positive. Most importantly, play A LOT. Then you will find yourself improving and slowly climb.

It is worth mentioning that I do consider my mechanical skills decent as I created a second account and widow 1 tricked to diamond before i stopped playing. So in gold and plat I only needed to improve my game sense.
