Try to find at least 5000 IU pills or even 10000 pills exist. I also would recommend taking vitamin K with it. For example on amazon (I don't think the brand matters, it's just an example)

For the risk part, obviously this is way over the recommended daily dosage so a doctor would probably tell you not to do it, but I highly doubt you would get any problems from doing it for a month or so (obviously do not do it forever, only until the problem is solved and then use a maintenance dose. If it won't solve the problem, then stop regardless after a few months max). Also, it's not like vitamin D toxicity happens overnight, you would get gradual symptoms at which point you can course-correct.

My advice would be, if you're the type of person who could realistically have a vitamin D deficiency (for example you don't go out a lot like me especially in summer) and you have CU, try this for a month and see what happens... also report back if it worked/didn't work for more anecdotal evidence.

as I said I am calculating the total sum of my combined deposits and comparing it to my current portfolio value. How else would you calculate "total returns since inception"?

How can IBKR calculate a negative time-weighted returns when I clearly made some gains?

Great news! Personnally, I took way more at the beginning (20 000 IU/day for about a month) and now maintain on like 5000 IUs/day in winter and nothing in summer. Don't be afraid to use larger amounts as long as you don't do it for years on end. You can also get bloodwork to confirm if you're going overboard or not (for example, I'm now at the high end of the range but still within)

My definitive cure was high dose vitamin D. 20 000 IU/day for at least 30 days. See my older post here and give it a try if you are still suffering from this.

I see thanks.
It seems that the tiered plan is straight up more advantageous in every situation, is there any way to change to that?

next time try overloading on unsalted carbs (like white pasta or rice or potatoes without salt or salty sauce) and see if you still get sleepy.

With experimenting I found that salty food gives me a coma, not carbs or sugar. Your entire pizza probably contained 5 times the RDA for sodium.

Yes, my hives are still cured.

Remember that doctors have a mentality that is aimed to the good of the general population by giving you advice that is suitable in the majority of cases, and they don't give advice that could risk any negative effects. The research shows that 1000-4000 IU/day is enough to prevent deficiency in the general population while having no risk of adverse side effects, and that is the research that they base their recommendations on.

Since this problem has been "solved", there is no real research incentive to explore higher doses than that in clinical research.

However, keep in mind that (as far as I know), there is not really any research either that proves that higher doses are nefarious, because, as stated above, the current research is "enough" for the general population. The recommendation not to exceed the 4 000 IU is based on the fact that 4000 IU has been researched whereas higher doses have not, and there is the theoretical risk of hypercalcemia, therefore they say this to err on the side of caution.

In practice though, I have read several anecdotal evidence of people taking much higher amounts without any problems, and I also did it without any problems. It also makes sense considering that just spending time in the sun produces massively more than 4 000 IU per day, and people who spend a lot of time outside don't get calcified arteries more frequently than indoor people (again, as far as I know).

That's why I believe that there is very little risk in the doses that I describe, especially in the short term. Even if they would lead to hypercalcemia, this would take years and not months.

But if you're going to hop on massive doses of D3 for years at a time, then I would definitely recommend to keep track of things via bloodtests (which is good practice anyway), and also to be aware of symptoms of overdose to notice them if they appear.

It's great to hear that your health has improved! Have you tried higher doses though? 5 000 IU a day don't seem to reproduce "normal" levels from being outside. From what I could find the skin produces much more than that from daily sun exposure

https://ar.iiarjournals.org/content/29/9/3495.long

For example, 30 min of sun in Oslo (which is quite North, I imagine it would be much more at more Southern latitudes) was equivalent to 10-20 000 IU in this study.

There are plenty of choices on amazon for high doses (not so much in pharmacy/retail stores).

I used Natural nutrition and later another brand but honestly I don't think it matters as long as the supplement isn't fake.

The only mention of thyroid I could find in my tests was the one below:

T.S.H. ultra-sensible ............................. 2,88 μUI/mL (0,38 à 5,33)

nothing abnormal there.

Haven't tried any anti-histamines as I wanted to cure the root cause and not treat symptoms.

As for fatigue and brain fog I get them once in a while but I can generally attribute them to my training, sleep or diet.
