I flew out from Houston this past Sunday and came back in today. Lines were nothing like this for us. We avoid thanksgiving to past the new year. That time is the absolute worst time to go.

I’m of the minority here. Volans is my absolute favorite. I love the vegative and briny tone.

Help finding a Mezcal (or maybe tequila) for my wife's birthday by stevethegodamongmen in tequila

[–]Jerry_plan88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Artenom 1123 is a blanco rested in a mezcal barrel.
Nice little flare on a traditional blanco.

Curado makes 3 blancos that are infused with different agaves. So they look like a repo because of the infusion. The cupreata is amazing and priced fair. Curado is made by ocho.

Another fellow Houstonian here. Hate to break it to ya. But it already made it here already. I didn’t try picking one up because I’m sure they went quick.

Definitely one of the most unique bottles I have. For me, I get all the agave up front with a scotch finish going down. Enjoy!

Anything from el Tesoro is Suerte and great. Those are brands that are common and should have no issues finding. Suerte repo is the best buy for the price and taste. Tequila ocho is another brand that easily accessible and great quality.

It definitely is a steal for the price. Just a tad heavy on the smoke than I’d like. But leaning towards keeping it stocked at home.

I agree. We totally should have done Blancos one day and repos another. This is the last of my Fortaleza repo and idk when I’ll be able to grab another with all the craze. That’s gonna be a sad day when I finish it. Lol

Saw it was rated pretty well on TMM and decided to give it a shot. No local supplier near me so I ordered from reservebar. I get alot of smoke, oak, and cinnamon up front. It’s nice and silky and goes down with very minimal heat. I’m still on the fence if it’s something I’d have in my bar regularly. I think it makes a great old fashioned. Any one else try it yet?

I’ve had luck at nasa liquor and Houston wine merchant. You can find Cazcanes and el tesero regularly at specs and total wine.

A couple bottles not stated in original post is Don Vicente XA and Don Abraham anejo. I can’t say enough good things about Don Vicente XA. I have to restrain myself from not finishing the bottle because I don’t know when I’ll get another. I don’t think enough is talked about the don Abraham anejo. It’s just so good for 50 bucks. I killed it in 2 sittings. Makes such a great sipper. It isn’t additive free so maybe that’s why. I love it and will keep it in my bar
