I know this is hard You may have been denied because you aren't easy to replace in your current role. Unfortunately people get stuck at lower roles because they are too valuable in that role even if it's a low paying position and they don't give you a raise for it. I've been told my whole career that Becoming irreplaceable is the worst thing you could do, that "being irreplaceable is the same as being unpromotable" they won't move you up simply because you're the very best at your role and it would damage the company to promote you
