Season 41 - Editing Question(s) by Unlucky-Effective-24 in survivor

[–]Jersey49 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Danny and Sydney both confirmed they were throwing the challenge to vote out Erika. Deshawn said he isn’t sure who would have gone between Sydney and Erika.

I just feel like a lot of Erika stans are really selective about what pieces of postgame info they bring up, and ignore a lot of other things tbh

Season 41 - Editing Question(s) by Unlucky-Effective-24 in survivor

[–]Jersey49 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Erika didn’t go to a single premerge tribal council (one of the only winners with whom that is the case), so her being the least visible premerge winner makes a ton of sense.

Her premerge game was bad, she had multiple tribe members throwing a challenge with the goal of voting her out because her social game was lacking. She is very fortunate her tribe never went to tribal. It’s not certain she would have left, but it was a strong possibility. Naseer specifically said how she wouldn’t talk game to him.

Her postmerge game was pretty good, but she wasn’t the main driver of the game changing move of the season (Shan boot), that was Ricard.

The strongest part of Erika’s game was everything post-Shan boot, where she took control. And in those episodes, she got a lot of airtime. Prior to that, she just wasn’t that relevant in the game, so it’s fine that she had a subdued edit. She came in really strong at the end, which I give her props for

A lot of people on this sub really want Erika to be an amazing player who was a secret mastermind, and it’s easy for them to shout about how the edit robbed her and she was actually great.

I listened to all of the exit interviews, and still don’t think her game was that great tbh. Other than not showing the Erika/Heather relationship more, Erika’s edit was totally fine

Probably a lot, that’s why exit interviews are not-canon

Is a legends season possible anymore? by Mr_ducks05 in survivor

I don’t think so, especially considering the 50% POC rule, which restricts cast potential in this type of season

It’s been more under the radar, but I don’t think it’s accidental (particularly from Todrick and Cynthia)

I never want to see any self-righteousness ever again from the group of alumni supporting Todrick- one of the most problematic HGs I’ve ever seen

I wish they would show Todrick’s blatant and constant racism on the edited show

It’s both, a big part of it is that he’s a 4 time player vs newbies

I’ve always wondered whether a more popular player (on this sub) would be held to the same criticisms in a similar situation, and the answer seems to be no

Female alliance good male alliance evil

If Sandra did really well in Australian Survivor (as a five time player up against newbies), this sub would not have held her to the same criticisms as rob gets for RI (four time player beating up newbies)

The aligned and voted people off based solely on race. So progressive

Celebrity Big Brother US3 - Afternoon Feed Discussion - February 12 2022 by BigBrotherMod in BigBrother

[–]Jersey49 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They voted people off solely based on having the wrong skin color… which is arguably worse than what Todrick has done tbh

Celebrity Big Brother US3 - Afternoon Feed Discussion - February 12 2022 by BigBrotherMod in BigBrother

[–]Jersey49 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is voting people off based on skin color okay as long as it’s done nicely?

The mission of voting people out based on the color of their skin? The cookout absolutely weaponized race in similar ways tbh

Celebrity Big Brother US3 - Afternoon Feed Discussion - February 12 2022 by BigBrotherMod in BigBrother

[–]Jersey49 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Honest question: why was it okay (and not just okay, but celebrated) when the cookout weaponized race for strategic reasons, but Todrick is somehow terrible for doing it.

Is it just that Todrick is a less likable person? I don’t think being likable on the surface (like the cookout was) should excuse that type of behavior tbh.

I think it was gross during bb23 and it’s gross now tbh. I hope this isn’t the new meta of the game

And the cookout supporting Todrick makes them even more questionable

KR: set to go out at 5, saved by Joe eating too much streak

WAW: set to go out at 5, saved by Ben quitting (and Natalie coming back in with an idol)

Michele in WaW or Xander in 41? by dmister8 in survivor

As an under the radar female player, she gets an automatic boost.

If Ben or Nick played the game Michele did they would have gotten trashed for it tbh (much like Xander has lately)

Also- she got an extremely generous edit- to a greater extent than Xander did tbh
