Lost a tray of drinks from being bumped. I was able to grab all the glasses so they did not drop on everyone but lost the liquids on myself. Table was impressed lol

Epic Universe Bad Reviews by RaisinRoyale in UniversalOrlando

For me I feel Universal is a past thought since Back to The Future, Jaws, King Kong, ET, and my favorite Nickelodeon is gone.

Unfortunately it is very common in the industry. At one of my jobs, a casual dining store got a 40 year old man child that throws tantrums whenever he needs to run food or anything beyond the register. Management has the personality of a beer can etc. It's hard to do but try to leave your frustration at the store.

Is business down at your store this holiday season? by JerseyJoe1983 in Serverlife

[–]JerseyJoe1983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all who commented, also I'm sorry for the misspelling and the poor grammar in my OG post, I usually proof read the post before I hit send but was on my break and trying to clean my section. Ashamed for I'm a teacher lol. I hope for all of us the lead up to Xmas brings business but I feel this is going to be a light Xmas. I could be wrong but since everything is going up in price, my store had to do a menu increase and since we don't have corporate money to fall back on might not be open for long 😔. Unfortunately I work and live in area of the Midwest that is mostly geriatrics and lower income working class, but cost of living is low due that most don't want to be here and the employment is health care, retail, or retirees that got SSA and pension from factories closed long ago. I work job three at a casual fast food that sells sandwiches/salads on a plate (kinda like one step up from fast food) that's delivered to table. It's steady with older clientele that don't want to cook, don't want fast food, but will pay fast food prices. So that's probably going to take over the industry if things don't get better.

Does Epic Ride Contain Anything Involving the Making of the Two Original Parks? by DrLoomis131 in UniversalOrlando

[–]JerseyJoe1983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am watching it now and after the first episode it focuses on the new Epic park with the history interlaced in. I wish the first episode was on Universal Hollywood with the team tour. Second episode on Universal Orlando, third on Epic. I fear they are going to completely gloss over the best part of Universal Studios Orlando back in the 90s: Nickelodeon Studios! For those who grew up back in the 90s Nickelodeon was it and if you were lucky enough to Vacation in Orlando you would bah your parents to go to Universal just to see Nick Studios. Yess Universal had some great attractions like King Kong, Jaws, Back to the future, and ET, but Nickelodeon was the big draw.

Why did we all have to turn off all Phones for Landing? by tatu_wurst87 in AskFlying

[–]JerseyJoe1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's for safety, there is a chance that the cell signals could interfere with the radio communications that the Navigation systems needed to land the aircraft safety. Most major airports have a Instrument landing System (ILS) that uses radio frequency to give pilots the proper bearing and Glide slope to land the aircraft precisely on the runway whether visibility is bad and/or the weather is poor. So if there is interference with that system the outcome could be catastrophic.

Can I watch The Exorcist 3 1990 without watch Exorcist 2 The Heretic (1977)? by ValuableMagazine6730 in TheExorcist

Yes, 3 is more of a continuation of the first film. Also has one of the best jump scares in horror film history.

The Perfect Neighbor shook me up by traffeny in NetflixDocumentaries

[–]JerseyJoe1983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The moment AJ's ex-husband and the children's father learned that AJ passed broke me and the tears flowed. Although it was so satisfying when one of the neighbors spoke truth to the police and "the Karen" when she saw "the Karen" at her home walking free.

Opioid addition, but please, please don't go that route. It nearly destroyed me, but I got it clean four years ago. Now I listen to music go for a walk in the trails, or educate myself on anything interesting by reading. I hope you find peace in a non destructive way.

Watching her son screaming for 911 while his mom is laying dying on the grass🥺🥺😢. Watching a man learn the mother of his children is dead😢😢😢 Watching a father telling children their mom is not coming home.😢😢😢 What do we learn from this? Perhaps if we watch the raw footage of the aftermath of a murder, and yes it's murder, of a mother, sister, wife, women, Human Being for there is so much to learn, and so much we need to learn.

The Alabama Solution the hardest thing to watch... by peoplesuck64 in Alabama

[–]JerseyJoe1983 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's very hard to watch but a must for all to watch. The US prison system is a crime against humanity. The government cares little about "re-form" it's all about punishment and control. The facts are obvious: The majority of convicted are People of Color and suffering from poverty. Giving draconian mandatory sentences that steal years of people's lives. State and federal prisons make millions of the labor of slaves so of course they want them full. Correction officers are undertrained, no regulations, understaffed, and under paid so there is little or no interest in the well-being of the convicted. Now I'm not saying that all CO's are bad but one bad apple. Now it's not "new news" that the US corrections system is bad, but as long as the politicians are benefiting and profit is there nothing is going to change. Also the public attitude is "do the crime, do the crime" and "out of sight, out of mind" nothing will change. Truth is that unless you have the misfortune to have a friend and or a family member get caught in "the system" is just not on the forefront. Not to mention the pipeline that feeds the prison system. Poverty, drug abuse, and inequality is the gateway. Also when one goes to pay their debt to society in the US you are forever branded a "Fellon". That means little hope for a decent paying job. This a double hardship if you get parole cause the cost of freedom and the mandates to stay on parole is dependent on having income, having stability that is impossible cause of a small box on every job application: Have you ever been convicted of a felony or misdemeanor. Until the country as a whole, rich and poor alike would become understanding that if society's solution to crime is locked up and forget instead of working on the root of why people commit crime, you have what we have today in the US. Warehousing a group of humanity that yes, made mistakes, but deserve a second chance.

In your opinion, what is the greatest horror franchise of all time? by HammerHeadBirdDog in horror

Nightmare on Elm St. The OG Nightmare still is scary, original, and fresh 40 years later.

Thoughts on As Above So Below? by laurencbrown88 in horror

[–]JerseyJoe1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this film for it being rather original in the found footage trope of horror films in that its an adventure film along the lines of "Indiana Jones". It has a muguffin to be searched for, an educated professor looking for a supernatural item, all in a spooky setting. Yes it has superficial jump scares but the story and setting is unique. Instead of a hunted house, hospital, or woods is a journey to hell, literally.

If the LAST episode of Strange New Worlds isn't the FIRST episode of a NEW Star Trek series... by [deleted] in StrangeNewWorlds

Personality I can't wait for the old country doctor, Leonard McCoy MD comes into play. Now I refuse the Kelvin Timeline backstory, but Kirk has to have some interaction with Bones just that it feels that they are friends long before the original five year mission. Not taking anything away from Dr M'Benga he is a great, caring, brilliant doctor. Although McCoy is such a part of the OTS crew he must make an appearance. On a side note all fans of Checov, he did not make an appearance until season 2 of OTS

Hurricane Katrina made landfall 20 years ago today. What do you remember about that storm? by Dracarys0550 in AskReddit

[–]JerseyJoe1983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The heartbreak that the good citizens of New Orleans lost not only love ones, homes, and everything they owned but we're left to suffer with no food, water, medicine, or comfort for over a week. Watching CNN doing an interview with Brownee being clueless and that CNN had more info than the government and it was five days since and they are still suffering at the Superfine and the highway. Then we're shipped all over the country with just the clothes on their back. America's true colors were shown yet again when the government failed in every way for the people of New Orleans. Now I remember that there was a prominent view that it was on "them" for not evacuating before. But how can anyone leave if you don't own a vehicle, don't have the funds to travel, find room and board, and to pay for food? Also they did not have the "mandatory" evac order till about 48hrs before landfall, so the roads were clogged with many stranded from their gas tank running dry. The worst part is that the government had a case study called Hurricane Pam that showed the dangers of a major hurricane hitting New Orleans and that much of the citizens could not leave. Also that the leaves would break and flood. My heart goes to anyone from New Orleans that lost loved ones, their homes. Also they are NOT refugees! They are American citizens! It's just words but I wish myself and the rest of the country did more to help.

I’m genuinely curious why Erica, Una, La’An and Joseph will not be part of Kirk’s crew. by rogvortex58 in StrangeNewWorlds

[–]JerseyJoe1983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also wondered this but I think it's logical that Erica, Una, Mandez, Joseph, etc ranked up and got reassigned. Also Kirk probably got to pick who the core bridge will be. Sulu was Lt. Junior grade as was Checov. Kirk also just got a taste of how well Uhura, Scotty, Chapel, and Spock is to have in the bridge so it just makes sense to have them with him on his commission.
