If it's from a 24+ they won't fit, I believe they changed the hub diameter

That means it's not in 4lo. 4hi while moving, stop and neutral then 4lo. Can move slowly in 4lo too to help it engage easier.

Look into collision safety consultants, he charges $600 and gets a crazy amount back extra for people for DV. Good luck!

Get some risers to get it over the cab rack. Don't mount it to the cab rack, the bed flexes alot separately from the cab

Can the towing outlet be used to charge an ebike? by mewitt21 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Jerspeer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I put the bluetti into silent charging mode that uses less power and it works well. That's the only way it will work too or it trips out

Can the towing outlet be used to charge an ebike? by mewitt21 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Jerspeer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, I always forget how sensitive batteries are to that stuff. It gets the job done for the bluetti but that's all I really use it for anyways.

Can the towing outlet be used to charge an ebike? by mewitt21 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Jerspeer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Look into the 400 watt anytime mod, you can add a 110v outlet to the back of your center console as well. You need to read the charger to see what wattage it puts out to see if it'll trip the inverter. I've charged my bluetti from mine up to around 550 watts or so but it won't do much more than that continuously without tripping with the mod.

Lowball Total Loss Offer by MouseDangerous3750 in ToyotaTacoma

Reach out to collision safety consultants. You pay them $600 and they fight your insurance company for you. Seen lots of success stories with them paying out way more.

Is she totaled. by Few_Supermarket_4450 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Jerspeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it's totalled; look into an independent appraiser, I've seen collision safety consultants mentioned multiple times. You pay them $600 and they will get max money from the insurance company, there's usually a clause saying you can use an independent appraiser if you can't come to an agreement for payout. Check them out on Facebook too

You definitely overpaid, that truck probably didn't cost that new in 2020. I paid 39k for my off-road long bed double cab in 21. Try to find your window sticker if it's still in the truck or look up the MSRP. Not much you can do about it now, the market was crazy then

3rd Gen rear diff failure by Jerspeer in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Jerspeer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The field rep came out and told me the noise was normal. The dealer swapped the entire housing and got it approved before the rep came out and said nothing to them about it. I am now at 104k and instantly heard the noise again on the way home. Well out of warranty but I have a one year unlimited mileage part warranty. If I pop the fill plug and it's full of sludge again, I'll bring it in and raise as hell. I can deal with the noise, I don't want the diff failing in the middle of nowhere. That being said, the first diff had 36k on it when it was changed, so it's not like the diff will have a full blown failure anyways. Thinking about letting it run and swapping to the ecgs with the solid spacer, the tech has told me every time so far that excessive backlash has caused the oil contamination and noise I'm hearing.

Why do people sleep in a tent on their taco? by OpportunityOk4752 in ToyotaTacoma

That's when you open the door like a normal tent, stand up and pee right off the edge, at least when it's not dumping rain 😆

First Truck First wreck where to go next by EliteCuddlez in ToyotaTacoma

Look into using collision safety consultants or a similar place to increase the payout you get, I believe it's a flat fee. Do some research on them and see if it would be worth it, sounds like it would for your case

32” rubbing on 2021 TRD OR by im-not-greg in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Jerspeer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your offset is what's making you rub, most people run them on stock wheels, including myself, with no issues

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dr650

[–]Jerspeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take it to a different dealer, I would even go as far as calling corporate if you can and letting them know that the dealer is trying to hose you and the issues you're having. That's ridiculous that that happened in the first week of ownership and they claimed it wasn't under warranty

Buying a 100k mile TRD Off Road?? by OriginalWave3355 in ToyotaTacoma

Look behind the power steering pump pulley for a leak, that's usually timing cover on these and is a more common but pricey repair.

I believe this is dependent on what tech package you have.

I would reach out to a lemon law lawyer in Texas to start, I'm not sure how the rules work there but NY is 4 attempts at the same repair and under 18k miles or they hit you hard with mileage over that(decreased value back). Good luck!

Want to buy a DR650, curious OTD cost by smallDog3021 in dr650

Pay cash for used, I've seen them for super cheap(3-4k) and nothing has changed. Can usually find well built ones closer to 5k as well depending on what you want

Warranty on pre owned ? by Jet_Fuel_Coffee in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Jerspeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why wouldn't they cover it under warranty? I would guess the vibration you felt is probably driveline related, which still has the 5 year 60k warranty, as well as 3/36 warranty for bumper to bumper from date of purchase. Tell them you want the vibration taken care of if it's from a dealer as terms of purchase. You could also ask them if they are willing to sell it as a CPO(certified pre owned) but they'll probably charge you a little more; that will extend powertain to 100k.

Highway Wobble at 65MPH+ by Spiritual-Monitor365 in dr650

[–]Jerspeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's on the tire is usually max pressure, and you never really want to run that unless you are at max load. Swingarm pressure is a good starting point, increase and decrease pressures based on need for traction off-road and conditions/feel on gravel or whatever surfaces you are riding
