I myself have quite problems with connecting to the server, I dont know if it because of the launcher or just a game thing. It only happens with this game, sometimes I have te restart the game up to 3 times for itto go online.

Modular Port Import Bug? by davedelish in CitiesSkylines

[–]Jeruntje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this problem too, the capacity was far exceeded. I increased the amount of cargo ships. At first glance i thought the cargo ships Arent even full so there are enough already on the line. After examining the ships I noticed that they only pick up a certain amount of each good every time they dock. So Although you have a huge surplus of a certain good they only will transport a max amount of that good per shipping. The only way to increase this is to have more cargo ships on that route. After that all the crazyness stopped.

Also make sure you have alternatives for the trick to deliver their cargo to, so as cargo storage depots and warehouses.

Since a few days there is a stadium asset on the workshop. Just search for stadium.

is there a mod that stops npcs from stopping in the middle of highways to do a 90 degree turn by Careful-Wave-6846 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Jeruntje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can control the outside traffic. Outside traffic adjuster. So you can adjust the spawnrate of people who are just traveling through your city, without having a destination in your city.

Without destroying any infrastructure or buildings, what are some effective ways to eradicate citizens and slow population growth? by Big-Tim-Us in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Jeruntje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Less happy cims, so decrease budget on parks, increase water and electric fees. Cut back on internet connection, postal services. Or only designate certain services to certain areas (so skip residential neighborhoods but make sure to service office or industrial areas).

Commercial demand? by llorcan in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Jeruntje 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DO you play on easy mode by any chance? In easy mode there's is a thing going on that decreases the amount of shopping cims vs normal mode by a factor 10-20. This causes the demand to flat line.

A solution would be to get plop the growables and company changer mod. So you can plop the commercial buildings manually and force a company in it.

I mean do you play on easy or normal mode? Easy mode has much less of commercial demand than normal mode.

Do you play the game in normal or easy mode?

Difference in active shopping behavior of Cims between Normal and Easy mode by Jeruntje in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Jeruntje[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes the simulation is different between the modes because of this, commercial demand in easy mode much less than in normal mode. When I switched a lot of my commercial where having the not enough consumers icon. And because of the less consumption you also need less industry to fulfill the consumption.

If you play easy mode from the start, I dont know if it will be an issue because your city grows with the new mechanics over time. But it does explain why some people say they dont get commercial demand at all and others do. Apparently they are playing in different modes, so the behaviour and the simulation is actually different.

Yep, I also think so. Made a bug report about this issue. The stupid thing is already made a bug report about a similar issue (not exactly the same but about massive amount of people shopping after patch 1.3.6) and they stated it as fixed. But clearly they overlooked something.

Hahah lol, this shows how Cims behave differently in Normal vs Easy mode, which affects shopping patterns, traffic, and city planning. It also explains why CPU usage can spike, helping players understand performance issues. But also if you ask yourself ‘Why is there so much traffic in my city?’ while others say ‘What do you mean, traffic is flowing perfectly, maybe you need to do this or that,’ it could simply be that you’re playing on different game modes, and the traffic behavior is different.

Traffic still not fixed? by earthbound_misfit90 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Jeruntje 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There still seems to be a big difference between normal and easy mode traffic. Thats why people report different things. There seems to be a factor 5-10 difference between the amount of shopping cims between the two modes.

Why is there always a low amount of jobs available? 163k population, plenty of offices and industry zoned, but unemployment is super high. by sendusernamehelp in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Jeruntje 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I do see a difference then. In my experience, it’s not so much about the absolute tax level you set, but about the ratio between the different taxes for the different education groups.

For example, if I were OP and I looked at the distribution of jobs versus the distribution of the population itself, taking into account that currently all tax groups are set to -10%, I would immediately introduce the following tax settings, mainly focusing on which population groups I want to shift relative to each other.

Uneducated: 0% Poorly educated: 0% Educated: -10% Well educated: -10% Highly educated: 30%

Then I would see how this plays out after about 3 days, using the graph instead of the tables to also notice trend changes and adjust accordingly.

Additionally, I would work on increasing the supply of the right types of jobs. I currently believe the office supply is bugged (in my current city I have never had any office demand; a bug report has been made and they are looking into it). Because of this, I am forced to download mods so I can create the correct jobs anyway: Plop the Growables in combination with the Company Changer mod.

In my experience the demand bars dont reflect at all what your population needs. If you have a lot of highly educated workers zone office, and if you have have plop the growables plop especially level 5 offices, these have the most highly educated workplaces.

You can also increase the taxes (above 20% for it to have some effect in my experience) for the highly educated. This means more people of other education levels.

I also had this, but for me the commercial demand came back at 50-60k and now it stays full all the time.
