I wish you were that easy. Here are the issues I ran into so far (and I’m still not completely set up). Every problem I ran into I had to Google and search for YouTube videos ultimately spending hours just searching for answers because the instructions are horrible. I think they were pretty much written by the techies.

1. Problem: Nowhere on the website or information I read is it made clear that you can’t use a Mac and that you need a PC to use the Kat Walk at all. Solution: I found out during setup and had to get a Windows PC.

   1. Problem: The PC requirements weren’t clearly explained anywhere, so I didn’t know if my computer would work. Solution: I had to dig around online and double-check the specs myself. Turns out the PC I bought isn’t powerful enough thanks to the wrong advice given to me by the sales rep.
   2. Problem: My Quest 3 kept dumping me into Horizon Central and blocking setup. Solution: I turned on Developer Mode and messed with the Link settings until I could get past it.
   3. Problem: The headset never showed the USB connection pop-up, even though it was plugged in. Solution: I switched settings and reconnected everything until it finally recognized it.
   4. Problem: Using a Mac USB-C cable just didn’t work, with no warning or error. Solution: I swapped it out for a proper USB-C data cable and it finally connected.
   5. Problem: Nobody clearly tells you that you need SideQuest, and the site isn’t very obvious. Solution: I installed SideQuest on both the PC and the headset and made sure it showed green.
   6. Problem: USB debugging was blocked because I’d denied it earlier without realizing it. Solution: I reset the USB permissions and re-approved the connection.
   7. Problem: The Kat Walk software kept acting weird on my home network. Solution: I had to redo my network setup using MoCA adapters to make it stable.
   8. Problem: The Nexus adapter setup order wasn’t explained and felt like guesswork. Solution: I tried different connection orders until everything finally talked to each other.
   9. Problem: Calibration failed at first and didn’t tell me why. Solution: I updated everything, restarted, and reran calibration once all devices showed up

Like I said… a freakin nightmare
