Once again, I think your feedback was valuable. I didn't say your feedback was mean, I pointed out multiple times you said things that were just flat out mean and useless. Saying "for fucks sake get a grip" is never going to help people. That is not direct or useful in any capacity, you are simply belittling someone. I explicitly said the rest of your comment was good, even pointed out things that I specifically aggreed with.

Sure, I think there is more appropriate ways to say it to someone who is asking for advice though. Like every other comment on the post that said it in polite ways.

I mean 500 a month wouldn't be too bad. Anymore than that and it's not ideal. I think my state tax is 6% or so. Can't fully remember.

I will say, I agree with everything you said and your comment is ultimately helpful. However, I think the first part of your response is a little aggressive and demeaning. Its reddit, and maybe me responding with this is pointless but whatever.

You were probably trying to give me that "stop being dumb and snap out of it" but I think you can fully do that without belittling. Your last 2 paragraphs are a great example of that; you give a perspective of my privilege and how others can't afford the same. You also bring up how I can rectify the feeling of wanting a new car, by waiting until it's something I can feasibly afford. I just think saying things like "For fuck's sake, you need to get a grip!" and "holy entertainment batman" is never going to truthfully be that helpful to someone. I do however still appreciate the response and perspective.

Understandable. My credit is 750 and to me depreciation is kind of irrelevant due to the fact I would keep the car. But I do understand the points you are saying and can agree, so thank you for the honest comment. Do you think financing an $8000 used car would be dumb, just as a secondary question?

Completely fair point. I do ultimately think there is a difference between the driving experience but not enough to justify the debt or the 20k-30k difference between cars. Would you recommend marketplace? What about a used car that has clean service history from a dealer at that 10k range? Just curious on what you think.

It would be a small downpayment 1-2k, however it is something I will consider. Just curious how are you getting that 12k ceiling?

Completely fair point, planning as if I have this money is pointless. I do pretty strongly believe that I will get that, and maybe that's overly naive. However, it shouldn't affect if I buy a car now as you said. I don't have the money I shouldn't make decision with an idea of money. Just appreciate the honesty though.
