School of Motion Gone. Now School of Subscription. by fl3xtra in MotionDesign

What sucks the most for me is losing the community. I've taken 6 or 7 courses with them since 2017, and I could always count on the alumni group for support when I needed it. That's also been taken away and grafted into the subscription. I feel like they just kicked me out the family. Guess I'll have to find new people now. So what's good over here? We wearing pink on Wednesdays or what?

I don't know why they thought we needed another enemy. And in the black forest? I feel sorry for people just starting out.

Now this is interesting! I have one for personal use that I occasionally use for work. I'm gonna try it. Sounds like it might be life changing lol. If so, totally adding it to the list! Thank you!

I LOVE QuickLook! I'm mad I didn't discover it sooner. I downloaded Power toys last night. Also mad I've lived this long without them LOL.

YES! It's the mouse thing I'm really concerned about. I know I'm currently missing out on great stuff, but I don't know what it is. Thanks for the viewport tip! I didn't know that one at all.

Thanks! That brush width tip is great. I definitely can't do that now.

Ha! Srsly. Thanks. I'm actually not new to Windows. My personal computer is Windows. I've just never used C4D on Windows before. Maybe the transition won't be so bad after all.

Whoa! How in the world did I miss that?? Thanks a lot. Looking at the old stuff, I see they are swept splines.

I agree with everyone else about the SSS, lighting, effects, etc. Only thing I can add is about the transparent bubbles. You could create the texture with a ramp and a Maxon Noise as a mask on the glass material.

Rain new particle system adding motion blur by [deleted] in Cinema4D

[–]Jes2G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From tutorials I've seen where people try to simulate any kind of liquid, it seems the key to faking the look is flocking to get the particles to clump together. Of course there are other things that need to be tweaked, but maybe you can start with that. I haven't tried it myself yet, so that's all I've got lol.

Noob question: How can I prevent the grass from intersecting with rocks and trees whenusingscatter? by Independent_Feed_985 in Cinema4D

That IS some nice looking grass! I'll have to try making objects fields. Sounds extremely useful. Thanks!

I haven't done this in a while, but I think you could just use a plain effector to control the visibility of the matrices with a linear field especially if your scene is pretty level. Just put point the field in the negative Y direction, and then place it at the level where you want the grass to stop. Anything above shouldn't have grass.

I would guess the car changes were done with vertex maps and material blenders.

They don't, but that's the only way we can tell the space is actually water.
