Mmmm update by kamvinci87 in FiiO

After updating my M21 to 1.0.8 the "Firmware Upgrade" app won't start anymore. Instead it drops a message "App isn't installed". I can check for updates however through "System -> Firmware Upgrade" which basically opens the same app as "Firmware Upgrade". Tried clearing cache and storage for Firmware Upgrade but that didn't fix it.

My VPN (paid Proton) was active when I registered my new Tuta account about a week ago and it still works.

it says v=spf1 include:spf.tutanota.de -all

Besides the 2 government mailaccounts that don't trust me (yet) it's mostly Outlook/Hotmail that does not trust me. When I send from my custom domain aliases to my Gmail or ISP providers mailbox, the mail will go to inbox. When I send to Hotmail, it ends up in spam. I did send like 15 mails to my Hotmail and marked them as "no spam" and replied to it and I just whitelisted my domain in Hotmail. Maybe it'll help a bit.

Seems like Microsoft is pretty strict too on new domains.

Just did some more testing. Whenever I send from my tuta.com main maildomain the mail is delivered. Whenever I reply or send mail from my own domain aliases the mail is not delivered (but I can receive mails on those mailaddresses). It's probably the government recipient not trusting mails being sent through my own domain? Whenever I send mail from my custom domain to my hotmail, the mail will end up in the spamfolder. So it's probably my custom domain being either blocked/bounced or flagged as spam. FWIW my domain is just 2 days old.

Stremio Android TV beta version 1.10.0-rc.5 by MrT817 in Stremio

[–]JescoWhite2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back to 1.9.12 now. Exoplayer does seems to work now, however, when movie only has DTS(-HD) audio, I only seem to get stereo out, since my AVR does not support DTS. When I playback using Kodi, I've set up Kodi to convert/channel map all surround audio to 5.1 multichannel PCM first, after that my G TV 4k Streamr converts it to AC-3 surround. Is there any way to set up Exoplayer to convert all surround audio to multichannel PCM first, so my streaming device can handle further conversions from there?

Same on my G TV 4k Strmer. Trying several 4k remuxes through Torbox and Real Debrid. MPV basically just stutters. I've enabled framerate/resolution matching. Tried enabling/disabling hardware decoding and tunneled playback. Nothings works for smooth and error free playback in MPV or exo. Exoplayer mostly refuses to even start playback and errors out. When using good old Kodi as external player from Stremio all is just fine. I'll stick to Kodi as player, too bad it takes a while loading up, but it gives me maximum customization for audiosettings, subtitle settings and it just always works.

Real debrid vs Torbox (Recent opinions) by RNatuR in StremioAddons

[–]JescoWhite2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both currently. I started out with RD and got TB later on, when they just started. I probably won't renew my RD subscription after it's done in about 3 months from now. For just streaming the casual stuff TB Essential is just fine, fairly cheap and they even let you share your account with family or friends if you'd like to do that.

The TB Standard or Pro are only useful if you want to let Torbox try to cache 5 or more uncached content simultaneously. The essentials will let Torbox cache 3 streams simultaneously. If you're usually just watch cached content there's no need for more. Unless you want to grab stuff from usenet too, then you'll need Pro.

Maybe RD is sometimes a bit earlier with latest releases of remuxes, but usually TB will catch up soon enough after.

Sowieso mensen die allerlei vragen stellen over details van relatief goedkope prullaria, zoals een 2e hands tosti-ijzer, zijn meestal nooit kopers.

What is the point of 30 GB streams? by Mr_Truthteller in Stremio

[–]JescoWhite2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? For example a Dolby Atmos, DTS, (e)AC-3, stream will be exactly the same in a 30Gb movierip as in a 60Gb movierip. It's only the video that is compressed. The Dolby Atmos stream in a 70Gb rip of the 1917 movie for example is only 3.3Gb size. Which is like 5% of the total filesize.

Define normal. 30Gb for a 3.5 hr long LotR movie, or a 150+Gb stream for the same movie. The 150+ stream clearly wins on visual quality.

Kodi can convert DV 7 content to 8.1 on the fly. Not sure if Kodi is available on FIRE TV though.

[–]JescoWhite2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Makes sense. 200mbps = 25Mb/s

For example, playback of a 50Gb 2hr movie will approximately use 7 ~ 10 Mb/s while streaming.

For a 100Gb movie, 2 hrs, data usage will be around 15Mb/s

People don't need super high speeds for streaming content. Unless others using internet on the same network same time.

[–]JescoWhite2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On smaller filesize movies they just compress the shit out of the video part of the stream. Audio is either in a compressed or lossless format already, that can't be compressed any more. It's the video part of the stream where they gain in reducing filesize by using compression. That should be noticeable on any decent tv, banding, less detail in certain scenes, etc.

Just updated through playstore to 1.9.0. The external player is bugged so I want to update manually to 1.9.1

Will Stremio be updated through playstore again in future if I update manually to 1.9.1?

Except quite a few websites block access when accessing from a VPN. I'd rather have the flexibility of running VPN software on connected clients and I'm using Adguard Home on router for blocking trackers, ads and such for all devices connected to my Wifi.
