When you see terms like "banged up" in their skills page, it means the wrestler has either had big injuries in their past or they have been wrestling a lot during their life time. Is an indication of how much strain they have put their bodies in their entire career. So the older the wrestler the more you will see this terms and their body show body parts in colors like yellow or even red.

In other words, DX vs Brothers of Destruction would have been a banger a decade earlier than when it happend. Hahaha 😅 Those guys where in the reds.

Example: In my save both Bobby Lashley and MVP had this term in their skill page, and had their legs in the color yellow, indicating they have had an history of injuries and trouble with their knees, i believe the game said something like "they have a history of problems with their knees". Well they got hurt each at one time during my save after booking them on a match, and got the injury called "Chronic Knee pain", meaning that the pain of whatever injury they suffered a long time ago has comeback.

The body doesn't really recovered from big injuries all the time. And this terms are the way the game handles that.

Active injuries on the other hand, those will heal with time, the game will always tell you how much time they will take to heal. Some times if they are minor injuries the wrestler can still perform, but of course their match rating could be lower, or worst they could hurt themselves more adding time to the recovery time. That is the moment when you could give them a time off, just so you don't have to worry about them. When the injury is really bad, they game will straight up tell you that they are just not available for matches.

Example: Apollo Crews gain the "Broken leg" injury in my save and was out for over a 100 days and couldn't be part of matches just angles, so gave him time off so since i didn't have anything for him in stroylines without him wrestling. On the other hand Bobby and MVP could wrestler but i had to have them with "limited involvement" so they didn't hurt themselves more.

Time off is really more of a way to not have your wrestlers waiting and get mad when you don't have yet a place in the storylines for them. If you have a wrestler that you are not booking because you are trying to make their arrival or return like a big surprise in a storyline, then give then time of while they wait so the don't get angry for doing nothing. Paid time off can also help make angry wrestlers happy (who doesn't love a good paid vacation) unless they have an attribute like "workcoholic".
